Unprecedented Western Anti-Russia Hysteria

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Accusing Russia of poisoning former spy/double agent Sergey Skripal is a scandalous Big Lie, a colossal hoax, an anti-Kremlin conspiracy, a reckless geopolitical game.

No proof suggests Moscow had anything to do with Skripal’s poisoning, no possible motive exists to have wanted to do it – with everything to lose and nothing to gain.

Yet Britain, Washington, France, Germany, and US-controlled NATO declared Russia guilty by accusation for Skripal’s poisoning – an incident clearly the Kremlin had nothing to do with.

What’s going on is a UK-led conspiracy to unjustifiably frame the Kremlin for the incident – Skripal’s poisoning a false flag wanting Russia vilified, marginalized, weakened, contained and isolated beyond earlier attempts to achieve these objectives in the post-WW II era.

Russia is strong, resilient and free from US-led Western control. Escalated vilification risks potentially serious consequences if things go too far.

According to Moscow’s envoy to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alexander Shulgin, “there was never a scientific program under (the name “Novichok”) in the Russian Federation,” adding:

During “Soviet times, research began to produce a new generation of poisonous substances. Such research was carried out not only in the USSR, but also in the US.”

When the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, foreign “special services took a group of scientists…with the research that existed since the Soviet times” abroad to Western countries to continue working on toxic substances.

Shulgin: “We know the exact countries where such work continued, achieving certain success. The positive results of those studies can now be found in open sources.”

“Therefore, we can assume that the source of the substance used (to poison Skripal) is concealed in one of the countries where this research continued and achieved certain success.”

Despite Moscow’s outreach to Britain, there’s no dialogue between the countries on Skripal’s poisoning, Shulgin explained, adding:

Theresa May-led Tories appear “afraid that, should our experts examine (their toxic agent) samples, they will discover some catch in this whole case” – exposing the Big Lie about alleged Russian responsibility for what happened.

A previous article explained the following. In his book titled “State Secrets: An Insider’s Chronicle of the Russian Chemical Weapons Program” published years ago, Russian chemist Vil Mirzayanov included the formula used to produce the so-called “Novichok” nerve agent.

“Its chemical formula has been published in my book,” he said. It’s available in paperback on Amazon.

Currently living in America, he wrote separately about it in a 1992 article.

The Skripal poisoning incident is a clear UK false flag, likely cooked up with Washington, a scheme to unjustifiably demonize Russia more than previous efforts to achieve the same objective.

Where does it end? UK historian, former ambassador and human rights activist Craig Murray explained he “received confirmation from a well placed FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) source” that Britain’s secretive military research Porton Down science and technology laboratory was “not able to identify the (alleged “Novichok”) nerve agent as being of Russian manufacture,” adding:

Under heavy pressure, its officials only agreed to say the substance was “of a type developed in Russia,” far short of what Theresa May’s government wanted.

Murray is a credible source. His revelation exposed the anti-Russia scam, adding Moscow never successfully “synthesiz(ed) and manufactur(ed)” so-called “Novichoks” – “why they are not on the OPCW list of banned chemical weapons.”

Despite what’s known about the Skripal incident absolving Russia of culpability, considerable damage has already been done.

Public sentiment was manipulated by false accusations featured in disgraceful media reporting, disinformation substituting for truth-telling – the way all propaganda campaigns work.
