Petras is Binghamton University, New York Professor Emeritus of Sociology. Besides his distinguished academic career, he’s a noted figure on the left, a well-respected Latin American expert, and a longtime chronicler of the region’s popular struggles.
He’s also a prolific author of hundreds of articles and dozens of books, including his latest titled, “Global Depression and Regional Wars.”
Petras’ current world views will be discussed.
Sunday, April 11 at noon US Central time: Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya
Nazemroaya is a student at Canada’s University of Ottawa (U of O). Until his early March Board of Directors removal, he was Fulcrum Publishing Society (FPS) Ombudsman, the English-language student newspaper.
It resulted from his critical reports about FPS’s editorial mistreatment of Professor Denis Rancourt, fired for his political activism – specifically his courageous stance on Occupied Palestine.
His case and its importance will be discussed.
