Thursday, January 27 at 10AM US Central time: Marjorie Cohn

Cohn is a distinguished Law Professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, and past president of the National Lawyers Guild. She’s also been a criminal defense attorney at the trial and appellate levels, is a noted author, and has written many articles for professional journals and popular web sites.

Her newest book will be discussed: “The United States and Torture: Interrogation, Incarceration, and Abuse.”

Saturday, January 29 at noon US Central time: Jack Rasmus

Rasmus is Professor of Political Economy at St. Mary’s College and Santa Clara University, CA. He’s also a freelance journalist, frequent speaker, a playwright and author, including his latest book titled, “Epic Recession: Prelude to Global Depression.”

His new book book will be published in 2011 titled, “Obama’s Economy: Stagnation and Collapse 2008 – 2010.”

His current economic views will be discussed.

Sunday, January 30 at noon US Central time: Frank Barat

Barat is a member of the UK-based Solidarity Campaign, formed to work for peace and justice for Palestinians. He’s also a member of the Organizing Committee Russell Tribunal on Palestine (RTP) that “seeks to reaffirm the primacy of international law as the (way to settle) the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

He’s also the editor of “Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians,” a new book by Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappe.

Discussion will focus on the RTP’s most recent London session last November and plans for more ahead to maintain momentum for peace and justice.

Stephen Lendman was born in 1934 in Boston, MA. In 1956, he received a BA from Harvard University. Two years of US Army service followed, then an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1960. After working seven years as a marketing research analyst, he joined the Lendman Group family business in 1967. He remained there until retiring at year end 1999. Writing on major world and national issues began in summer 2005. In early 2007, radio hosting followed. Lendman now hosts the Progressive Radio News Hour on the Progressive Radio Network three times weekly. Distinguished guests are featured. Listen live or archived.
