Gashoka represents the best of student activism. She’s targeted for doing the right thing. She challenged University of Ottawa racism.
She’s threatened with a lawsuit if she doesn’t “immediately take down (her) defamatory video from (her) website and any other location it has been published.”
U of O racism, censorship and abuse of power will be discussed.
Saturday, March 23 at noon US Central time: Doug Dowd
At age 94, Dowd is still active and vibrant. Through the late 1990s, he was an economic historian at Cornell, UC Berkeley and elsewhere. It went right along with his activism and progressive thinking.
He’s still writing books and articles. His latest book is titled “Inequality and the Global Economic Crisis.” His latest article is called “US Capitalism and Militarism in Crisis.”
Major world issues will be discussed.
Sunday, March 24 at noon US Central time: William Ayers
Ayers is Distinguished University of Illinois Chicago (retired) Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar.
He founded the Small Schools Workshop and Center for Youth and Society.
He’s a longtime social justice advocate. Discussion will focus on major world and national issues.
