Phony Netanyahu Assassination Plot
by Stephen Lendman
Israel wages endless war on Palestine, including three well-planned, premeditated terror wars on Gaza since December 2008.
Hamas and its entire population were targeted for phony reasons. Unaccountable high crimes followed. Gazans remain isolated in rubble.
Israel periodically claims Hamas-connected West Bank terror cells were uncovered, phony evidence substituting for hard facts.
Innocent victims suffer. Longstanding war on Palestine rages. An entire population suffers horrifically, especially individuals courageously resisting Israeli viciousness.
Its latest scheme involved indicting three Palestinians on charges of plotting Netanyahu’s assassination.
Jerusalem’s District Attorney named Hazem Ziad Amran Sandouqa, Fahdi Muhammad Abu Qaian, and Hamas member Ahmad Jamal Mousa Azzam.
The alleged scheme sounds more like a grade B film plot. Israel claims the suspects intended to plant explosives beneath the stage of the Jerusalem Payis Arena when Netanyahu was scheduled to speak.
They never did, likely never intended to, indictments an Israeli scheme to portray Palestinians as terrorists, diverting attention from its own high crimes, raging daily.
Claiming Hamas member Azzam bought explosives is supported only by Israel’s accusation, not independently verifiable hard evidence.
Palestinians are automatically guilty by accusation when charged. Due process and judicial fairness don’t protect them.
Azzam was arrested in December after Shin Bet claimed it uncovered another phantom Hamas terror cell, allegedly planning suicide bombings and other attacks in Israel.
Over two dozen arrests were made, mostly university students, activists for justice, not terrorists as claimed.
Israel invents plots to justify its unjustifiable indictments, longstanding policy against Palestinian activists – targeted entirely for political reasons, not criminality.
Innocence is no defense. Once charged, convictions and imprisonments are rubber-stamp. Claiming Hamas recruited Azzam, an Al-Quds University student, to establish a West Bank terror cell is unsupported by legitimate evidence.
Nothing indicates Hamas plots now or earlier to conduct suicide bombings in Israel or other attacks – against security forces and civilians. Their members are notably restrained, using harsh rhetoric critical of Israel alone.
Shin Bet charges are baseless. Their interrogators use torture to extract confessions, of no validity when forced.
Palestinians continue resisting Israeli ruthlessness valiantly, their legitimate right under international law.
Israel calls them terrorists, justifying its high crimes as self-defense – committing cold-blooded murders virtually daily, around 150 since October 1.
