Ruthless Israeli Injustice
by Stephen Lendman
Israel is run by fascists, Zionist zealots and religious extremists, a sham democracy, brutalizing Palestinians viciously.
State terror is official policy. An entire population is collectively punished. Gazans are slowly suffocating under siege.
Soldiers and militarized police are permitted to use lethal force against Palestinian stone-throwers and nonviolent protesters. Extrajudicial killings happen daily.
Young children and women are considered legitimate targets. Every day is Kristallnacht in Palestine. Fundamental human and civil rights are denied. Wanting to live free in sovereign Palestine is considered terrorism.
So is legitimate self-defense. Settlers commit violence and vandalism with impunity. A video released on Facebook shows soldiers congratulating each other for shooting Palestinians.
“(W)ell done” is heard repeatedly. One soldier said “what a hit! Beautiful!” The same scenario repeats as new Palestinian victims are shot.
Cheers are heard off-camera. Video evidence shows soldiers using live fire against Palestinians posing them no threat. Western media ignore these high crimes. Jewish victims alone matter.
On Sunday, Israeli authorities went ballistic after an Israeli woman was killed in occupied Hebron, in the illegal Otniel settlement, a Palestinian “terrorist” automatically blamed.
Soldiers are rampaging throughout West Bank Palestinian communities, looking for the assailant. No consideration whatever is given to the possibility one Jew killing another.
“An army force is pursuing the terrorist,” an IDF spokesman said. Ground forces, drones, helicopters and attack dogs are being used. Palestinians throughout the West Bank are threatened, terrorized by Israeli viciousness.
Dafna Meir was a mother of six. A witness “a few dozen meters from (her) home…heard a scream,” explaining: “I didn’t understand what was happening. I saw (the assailant) running…I didn’t see his face at all.”
Netanyahu responded as expected, saying “(w)e will find the terrorist, and he will pay the full price for this heinous murder.”
Meir was a Beersheba Soroka Medical Center neurosurgical nurse. In November, she commented on a local news media web site after Yaakov Litman and his son Netanel were killed near Otniel, saying:
“I have been thinking a great deal lately, thinking about why, what should be done or shouldn’t be or can’t be, how to behave, especially on the road, but not only.”
“The fears, for my husband and children, my friends and family. The situation isn’t easy. I sometimes have a feeling of (being in a game of) Russian roulette. And I can’t sleep.”
Israeli policy fosters violence. Its longstanding viciousness puts Jews and Palestinians at risk. Meir is one of its victims. Lay responsibility where it belongs.
