Pro-Western Syrian Network for Human Rights
by Stephen Lendman
UK-based far from Syria’s conflict, the pro-Western, anti-Syria, anti-Russia SNHR calls itself “an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit, impartial organization – run by a man named Fadel Abdul Ghani.
Its operation is similar to the UK-based pro-Western Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a notorious propaganda mouthpiece, publishing material given him by his handlers, mostly pure rubbish, no doubt well compensated for his efforts.
On August 18, SNHR headlined “Russian Forces Surpasses (sic) ISIS in Killing Syrian Civilians – State’s Terrorism is more Atrocious than the Terrorism of Extremist Groups,” claiming:
“The Russian regime is claiming that Russia intervened in Syria to protect the Syrian people from the terrors of the extreme group ISIS.”
“All what have been done is a military ac- tion (sic) that lacks a popular approval firstly, and secondly this military action has failed to protect the Syrian civilians from the savagery of the Syrian regime which is the primary base and justification for the existence of such extremist groups.”
His poor English at times is forgivable, not his bald-faced lies and omissions. He turned truth on its head claiming “Russian forces have killed more civilians than ISIS” in Syria – yet provides no credible evidence backing his assertion.
None exists. Plenty shows US-supported terrorists and its warplanes bear full responsibility for naked aggression against nonbelligerent Syria, massacring its people, mostly civilians, committing vast destruction, displacing half the population internally or externally.
Instead of reporting truthfully, SNHR falsely claimed “Russian forces have killed no less than 2704 civilians including 746 children and 514 women” from September 30 last year through end of July.
Its assertions aren’t based on credible documentation, Western-sponsored propaganda alone. Saying “(t)he Russian regime has terrorized and massacred the Syrian people and surpassed the extremist group ISIS,” then adding “(w)e have to be brave enough to acknowledge this truth (sic)” is simply crude propaganda anyone paying attention understands instantly.
Ghani is a poor liar. SOHR’s Rami Abdulrahman does a better job of reporting misinformation and Big Lies. Maybe they should get together and compare notes.
Their purpose is similar. Demonize Syria and Russia. Support US-led imperial aggression. Blame its high crimes on Assad and Putin.
Ignore the suffering of millions of defenseless Syrians, victims of US ruthlessness – Putin and Assad the heroes of the struggle, Obama and his rogue allies despicable villains.
