Scoundrel Media Big Lies on Syria Ceasefire
by Stephen Lendman
It’s hard imagining why anyone still relies on deplorable scoundrel media reporting – all propaganda all the time on issues mattering most, especially when America goes to war, naked aggression portrayed as humanitarian intervention.
Previous articles explained Russia/US negotiated ceasefire in Syria was dead-on-arrival – Syrian and Russian forces alone observing it, US-supported terrorists breaching it dozens of times daily.
War rages intensively, resolution nowhere in sight. Not according to The New York Times. It’s hard knowing what country it’s writing about, headlining, “Streets and Skies Suddenly Quiet, Syrians Watch Cease-Fire With Unease,” turning truth on its head, ignoring dozens of US-supported terrorist attacks, saying:
“They are getting used to fewer explosions, and to fewer ambulances racing through their war-ravaged cities. Now, under a tentative cease-fire across Syria, people have more time to think about longer-term concerns.”
What rubbish! The Times interviewed handpicked Syrians, suppressing what’s going on, US-led responsibility for naked aggression, using terrorist fighters as proxy foot soldiers.
Throughout the conflict, The Times continues supporting Washington’s imperial agenda, its rape and destroy strategy, suppressing hard truths about its dirty war without mercy.
The neocon Washington Post claimed the Pentagon “grudgingly accepts Syria deal amid deep mistrust of Russia.”
US Central Command (CENTCOM) head General Joseph Votel lied, claiming “a trust deficit with the Russians. (It’s) not clear to us what their objectives are. They say one thing, and we don’t necessarily see them following up on this.”
Fact: Moscow and Damascus are the only honest brokers, scrupulously observing ceasefire. US-supported terrorists keep breaching it multiple times daily, Washington and its rogue partners encouraging its high crimes.
Media scoundrels like WaPo consistently suppress America’s naked aggression in all its war theaters, nonbelligerent countries like Syria threatening no one raped and destroyed.
Calling its raging conflict “civil” is part of the coverup. So is wrongfully saying Russia and Syria bomb “hospitals and civilian areas” – a US speciality along with its so-called “coalition” partners, slaughtering civilians in cold blood.
The Wall Street Journal turned truth on its head, citing disreputable US sources, claiming Syrian forces are blocking humanitarian aid from reaching beleaguered civilian areas in need.
Geneva terms call for all combatants to withdraw one km north of the Castillo Highway, creating a safe corridor so humanitarian aid can reach besieged Aleppo areas.
Syrian forces alone complied. Heavily armed US-supported terrorists refuse to withdraw, continue fighting, and moved fighters closer to government-controlled areas.
The Journal ignored their breach. So did Ban Ki-moon and UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura, the world body outrageously blaming Damascus for obstructing aid deliveries. Washington lied, wrongfully blaming Syria for ceasefire breaches committed by US-supported terrorists.
Western reporting throughout the conflict reflects some of the most despicable perversions of truth in memory. Since March 2011, Obama’s war, orchestrated by Hillary Clinton at State, bears full responsibility for massacring hundreds of thousands of Syrians, maybe millions before conflict ends.
Half the population was internally or externally displaced. Humanitarian disaster conditions exist for millions of defenseless people – victims of US imperial ruthlessness.
