Netanyahu Invents New Way to Persecute Palestinians
by Stephen Lendman
In the week ending January 4, Israeli forces conducted 74 lawless incursions into Palestinian communities (over 10 daily), abducted 67 defenseless civilians, including 10 children.
One woman was shot three times with live fire, then arrested on fabricated charges – political, not legitimate reasons.
Vicious persecution continues daily. Expect worse ahead after Sunday’s security cabinet meeting.
Henceforth, any Palestinian Israel calls an ISIS supporter, true or false, will be administratively detained, perhaps indefinitely, without trial or any other form of due process.
When it comes to Palestinian rights, guilt by accusation is longstanding Israeli policy. Thousand of political prisoners languish in its gulag under deplorable conditions for wanting freedom from vicious persecution.
Israel’s latest action came after a Palestinian allegedly killed four soldiers on Sunday. It responded by collectively punishing an entire population, flagrantly violating international law.
The Jabal Mukkaber neighborhood adjacent to where Sunday’s attack occurred was blockaded.
The family home of alleged attacker Fadi Ahman Hamdan al-Qunbar will be demolished. He was lethally shot at the scene so unable to defend himself. His body won’t be returned to his family for proper burial.
Netanyahu claimed he’s an ISIS supporter, supplying no evidence proving it. Was he guilty as charged, or was the incident staged, a false flag, al-Qunbar an innocent patsy, the attack used to impose harsher measures on Palestinians than already?
Does Israel have other actions in mind beyond what’s been announced? It notoriously fabricates reasons for war and other ways to brutalize Palestinians mercilessly.
Maybe other barbarism is planned – unknown until it begins unfolding.
