Putin and Obama: Polar Opposite Yearend Remarks
by Stephen Lendman
Both leaders are polar opposites. Putin forthrightly urges global peace, stability, multi-world polarity and mutual cooperation among all nations.
Obama waged endless wars on humanity at home and abroad throughout his deplorable tenure – to benefit monied and political interests exclusively, no matter the cost in human lives, unspeakable misery and loss of fundamental freedoms.
Putin believes nation-state sovereignty is inviolable. No country has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of others for any reason except self-defense if attacked.
Obama intervened lawlessly against one nation after another, raping and destroying them. Washington New World Order rules alone matter. Core international and constitutional laws are obstacles to US hegemonic aims.
Imagine if America and EU countries had leaders like Putin. Imagine world peace and stability instead of endless wars of aggression and unspeakable human suffering.
His straight talk contrasts markedly with Obama’s double talk. His yearend address called the past 12 months “challenging…but the difficulties…brought us together…reveal(ing) enormous resources for our movement forward.”
Illegal US and EU sanctions were more helpful than harmful, making Russia more self-sufficient. Putin thanked his people for important “victories and achievements, for (their) understanding and trust, and for (their) true, sincere care for Russia.”

Looking ahead to the new year, he stressed the “need to treat our parents with love and gratitude, take care of our children and families, respect our colleagues at work, nurture our friendships, defend truth and justice, be merciful and help those who are in need of support. This is the whole secret.”

“May our dreams, heavenly thoughts and good intentions come true. May joy and love reign in every home. May our beloved streets, cities and villages become even more beautiful.”
“Peace and prosperity to our common, great homeland, Russia. Happiness, health and wellbeing to each of you.
Happy New Year 2017!”
President of Russia Vladimir Putin
Contrast his humble, sincere, dignified remarks with Obama’s arrogance, deceit and Big Lies, saying:
“We’ve turned recession into recovery.”
Fact: He created protracted Main Street Depression conditions, including widespread poverty, mass unemployment and underemployment.
Obama: “(W)e’ve put more people back to work than all other major advanced economies combined.”
Fact: The vast majority of jobs created were part-time or temp low-pay, poor or no-benefits rotten ones. Households need two or more to survive.
Obama: “Incomes are rising.”
Fact: Most gains went disproportionately to high-income segments of society, not to ordinary people most in need.
Obama: “Twenty million more Americans know the financial security of health insurance.”
Fact: Tens of millions remain uninsured or underinsured. Soaring insurance and drug costs make healthcare in America increasingly unaffordable – instead of readily available for everyone when needed.
Obama: “We’ve brought 165,000 troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, and took out Osama bin Laden. Through diplomacy, we shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program, opened up a new chapter with the people of Cuba, and brought nearly 200 nations together around a climate agreement that could save this planet for our kids.  Almost every country on Earth sees America as stronger and more respected today than they did eight years ago.”
Fact: Endless US wars or war-related violence and chaos rage in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Donbass, and complicit with Israel on Palestine.
Fact: Obama didn’t kill Osama. In December 2001, he died of natural causes in a Pakistani hospital, widely reported at the time.
Fact: Annual US intelligence assessments before the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) affirmed no military component to Iran’s nuclear program – unlike America’s menacing one.
Fact: Illegal US embargo on Cuba remains in place with little prospect of ending it any time soon.
Fact: The Paris climate agreement was largely smoke and mirrors deception.
Fact: America and Israel are the world’s most reviled countries for good reason.
Obama: “We’ve made extraordinary progress as a country these past eight years.”
Fact: America sunk to deplorable depths never before reached, waging war on humanity at home and abroad, serving privileged interests exclusively at the expense of beneficial social change.
Throughout his tenure, Obama broke every major promise made, shaming the office he holds. His legacy reflects mass slaughter, destruction and human misery on an appalling scale.
America and planet earth are far worse off than when he entered office. Thankfully he’s about to leave.
