Hostile Anti-Russia Judicial Ruling
by Stephen Lendman
Russia’s Foreign Ministry categorically rejects phony accusations by Ukraine’s US-installed putschist regime.
Kiev wants Moscow declared guilty of supporting “terrorism (and) cultural cleansing,” violating the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
Shamefully, the UN’s International Court of Justice (ICJ), partly ruled for Ukraine, saying:
“The Court has ruled, in particular, that with regard to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Russia must refrain from imposing limitations on the ability of the Crimean Tatar community to conserve its representative institutions and ensure the availability of education in the Ukrainian language.”
“With regard to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, the Court has ruled that there is no need for indicating provisional measures against Russia.”
In mid-January, Kiev filed suit at the ICJ – provocatively without just cause, part of longstanding Russia-bashing, with full support and encouragement from Washington.
On March 6, hearings were held. Kiev lied claiming Russian aggression against Ukraine, along with “financing…terrorist acts and seizing Crimea by “military force” – a complete fabrication on all counts.
Kiev also demands Moscow cease support for the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as pay compensation for the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 it had nothing to do with, nor did Donbass freedom fighters.
Ukraine’s military bears full responsibility, likely complicit with Washington, Moscow falsely blamed for their criminality.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Kiev ignores the rights of its people, violates treaties agreed to, pursuing its own interests at the expense of responsibly settling disagreements and resolving ongoing war in Donbass.
Separately, fascist Ukrainian Col. Vsevolod Steblyuk said the only way to free “occupied” Crimea and Donbass is by burning them to the ground, sweeping them fully, genocidally eliminating their populations.
Perhaps neocon lunatics infesting Congress and Trump’s administration agree.
DPR spokesman Alexander Kazakov said a Kiev junta special services unit intends launching terrorist attacks on Donbass, saying it may use environmentally destructive weapons, first attempting sabotage.
If he’s right, an attack could come any time.
