US Study of ISIS Threat Suppresses What’s Most Important

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

A new Combating Terrorism Center at West Point study, titled “The Fight Goes On: The Islamic State’s Continuing Military Efforts in Liberated Cities” was published to deceive, not explain what ISIS is all about.

It claims attacks by its fighters in Iraqi and Syrian liberated cities continue, the report saying:

“From each city’s date of liberation from the Islamic State until April 2017, the Islamic State reported that it carried out 1,468 separate attacks in these 16 cities.”

“The volume of military operations in these cities provides evidence for the idea that the Islamic State, once relegated in Iraq to guerrilla warfare from 2003-2011, may be returning to this form of existence in Iraq and Syria.”

“Pushing the Islamic State out as the formal governing party in a territory is not a sufficient development when it comes to ending the group’s ability to enact violence against individuals in Iraq and Syria.”

Fact: America created and supports ISIS along with other prominent terrorist groups.

Fact: US aerial and ground operations in Syria and Iraq impede elimination of this scourge.

Fact: In Syria, government and allied forces, greatly aided by Russian airpower, alone made great gains against ISIS – despite US-led coalition aerial operations serving as its air force.

Fact: Iraqi forces made significant gains against ISIS, despite impediments by America’s presence.

The CTC West Point report suppressed how ISIS and other prominent terrorist groups exist and flourish – because of support by US-dominated NATO and its rogue allies.

Their tanks and other heavy weapons don’t materialize out of thin air. They’re supplied through Turkish and Jordanian borders, supplemented by US-led coalition airdrops, along with Western special forces aiding them on the ground.

As long as Washington intends using them as imperial foot soldiers, they’ll continue to exist wherever deployed, their depleted ranks replenished by new recruits – their weapons, munitions and other material support supplied by Washington, NATO, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

America’s permanent war policy assures continued recruiting and use of these elements to serve its interests, doing its killing and dying to advance its imperium.

It’s how Washington operates in all its war theaters, along with devastating terror-bombing, harming civilians most of all, massacring them indiscriminately – unaccountable high crimes.
