Undemocratic Alliance for Securing Democracy

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Democracy in America is fiction, not fact.

It’s one of the most abused and misused words in common use – including by undemocratic Democrats, their GOP counterparts, and the above-named organization.

ASD is run by hawkish bipartisan anti-Trump, Russophobic neocons. Its mission statement calls itself a “transatlantic alliance…to defend against, deter, and raise the costs on Russian and other state actors’ efforts to undermine democracy and democratic institutions.”

“The Alliance will work to publicly document and expose Vladimir Putin’s ongoing efforts to subvert democracy in the United States and Europe.”

Its leadership and advisory council include a rogue’s gallery of undemocratic extremists. Co-leaders are Hillary’s 2016 foreign policy advisor Laura Rosenberg, and former GW Bush administration DOD/NSC official, former Marco Rubio foreign policy advisor during his 2016 presidential campaign.

Advisors include Project for the New American Century (PNAC) co-founder William Kristol, retired admiral James Stavridis, former Homeland Security director Michael Chertoff, former acting CIA head Michael Morell, and former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, among others.

The ASD is ideologically militant, a similar organization to the Foreign Policy Institute, PNAC’s successor group. Its original name was too toxic to maintain – the new one ideologically no different.

Fly and other ASD members advocate regime change in Iran, aggressive war their favored strategy. They’re militantly Russophobic.

Anything positive about Russia and Vladimir Putin is considered blasphemy. Rosenberg lied claiming Moscow’s actions “undermine our democracy.”

ASD “will work to build a united front with European and other democratic partners, publicly document and expose Vladimir Putin’s ongoing efforts to subvert democracy in the United States and Europe, produce analysis of Russian and other state-sponsored efforts to subvert democracy, and develop a shared playbook that can be used by democracies to counter these efforts.”

According to Fly, “(f)inding out what happened in the 2016 election is important” – knowing no Russian meddling occurred.

“(E)ven more important is ensuring that we as Americans and Europeans are putting in place measures to secure our democracies today and in the future,” said Fly.

Democracy in America and Europe is pure fantasy. Neocon-infested right-wing extremists run things.

Russia is dedicated to world peace and stability. America and its rogue allies prioritize endless imperial wars.

So do ASD hardliners – dedicated to preventing democratic governance anywhere, wanting sovereign independent governments replaced by pro-Western puppet ones.

The type world they favor is unsafe and unfit to live in. Democrats are as ruthlessly extremist as Republicans.
