WaPo Hypes the Nonexistent Russian Threat
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
None exists, not now or earlier. Everyone in Washington knows it. So do media scoundrels like the neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post.
Yet the Big Lie persists. On June 30, WaPo headlined “How US presidents missed the Russia threat – until it was much, much to late,” saying:
Obama “fail(ed) to react to intelligence reports on Kremlin attempts to influence the US election.”
Fact: Before last November’s election, in response to Trump suggesting it was being rigged for Hillary, Obama said “there is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even – you could even rig America’s elections, in part, because they are so decentralized and the numbers of votes involved.”
WaPo: “(O)ne Trump associate has been linked directly to Russian hackers…”
Fact: No election hacking occurred by Russians or anyone else. The accusation is fake. Not a shred of evidence proves otherwise.
WaPo: Obama, Bush, and other US officials “didn’t…recognize the…dangers posed by a resurgent, aggressive Russia years earlier – and how…Trump” benefitted.
Fact: Russia never attacked another country. It’s not at war aggressively earlier or now. It’s the world’s leading peace and stability champion.
Fact: Trump benefitted from sounding anti-establishment, appealing to millions fed up with dirty business as usual – not realizing they were being conned. He proved himself as ruthlessly dangerous as Hillary and other neocons infesting Washington.
WaPo: “We know that Trump, among others, did deals with many people who had Russian or ex-Soviet connections. We also know that he has admired Putin for many years…”
Fact: Trump earlier said he has “zero investments in Russia.” There’s nothing inappropriate or illegal for anyone to invest there, or have relations with anyone in the country.
Fact: Many people admire Putin. He’s the preeminent world leader – polar opposite deplorable Western ones.
WaPo supports America’s appalling domestic and geopolitical agenda. It writes what Langley directs it to say.
