Toll on Palestinians Since Trump’s Jerusalem Declaration

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Judge him by his actions, his close administration associates, and key foreign allies – Ziofascists making him one, disgracing himself beyond redemption.

He has blood on his hands in Palestine and multiple US war theaters, naked aggression continuing against sovereign independent countries – using ISIS and other terrorist foot soldiers, along with Pentagon terror-bombing.

He outrageously declared Jerusalem as Israel’s exclusive capital, flagrantly breaching international and US constitutional law, well-briefed on the explosive outrage to follow – entirely justified against his move, along with intolerable occupation harshness.

According to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), the near three-week toll on Palestinians since his declaration includes:

• 16 Palestinians lethally shot by Israeli soldiers or police;

• 880 wounded, including 127 children, numerous women, 13 journalists and four paramedics – 383 from live fire, 239 from rubber-coated steel bullets, 257 struck with toxic tear gas canisters, others from brutal beatings.

The toll includes 570 casualties in Gaza, another 310 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, over 600 Palestinians violently arrested – showing Israel deliberately wants high casualty and arrest counts, aiming to cow Palestinians into submission.

PCHR: “(I)t is clear that the Israeli forces…use(d) live ammunition, to confront the unarmed civilians through direct sniper operations in peaceful and nonviolent protests, knowing that those protesters did not pose any threat or harm to the lives of the Israeli soldiers.”

On orders from Netanyahu’s ruthless regime, they used “lethal and excessive force against the protesters…as a result of (a) green light (from Washington), following the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”

PCHR blasted US complicity with Israel in the “crime of aggression” against the Palestinian people.

Fourth Geneva’s Article 146 calls for UN member states “to provide effective penal sanctions for persons committing, or ordering to be committed, any of the grave breaches of the present Convention,” including:

• crimes “against persons or property,”

• willful killing;

• torture and other forms of abuse;

• inflicting “great suffering or serious injury to body or health;” and

• other offenses harming the fundamental rights of protected persons, affirmed under Article 27.

Brutalizing Palestinians continues daily – with full support and encouragement from Washington.

Prospects for conflict resolution are nonexistent as long as hardliners in both countries reject it.

The so-called peace process is a colossal hoax. Israel and Washington want Palestinian subjugation, not liberation.
