The NYT Reinvents War Criminal Obama

The NYT Reinvents War Criminal Obama

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

The self-styled newspaper of record did it numerous times earlier, notably days ahead of Trump’s inauguration.

It ignored his high crimes, his deplorable eight years of public disservice, operating as a front man for Wall Street, war-profiteers, and other corporate favorites over popular interests he disdained throughout his tenure.

He shamefully bragged about terror-bombing seven countries – the highest of high crimes.

The Times turned truth on its head, saying his self-styled farewell address reflected “calm in the midst of the storm, a rock of familiarity and stability and strength,” the handpicked audience “forlorn…realizing the magnitude of the moment, realizing the profundity of its loss” – a disgusting perversion of truth.

He turned America into more of a pariah state than before he entered office. His war on humanity at home and abroad spoke for itself.

He betrayed the public trust straightaway in office, breaking every major promise made, showing contempt for world peace and ordinary people he doesn’t give a damn about.

He was contemptuous of fundamental human and civil rights, his domestic and geopolitical agenda reflecting pure evil, his high crimes well documented.

Like John McCain and an array of other notorious US war criminals, a special place in hell awaits him when he goes.

His shameful address last week at the University of Illinois joined the assault to remove Trump from office, a near-unprecedented action by a former president against a sitting one, calling DJT a “threat of our democracy” – existing in name only, the real thing nonexistent in America from inception, only a deceptive fantasy version.

As part of the unrelenting Trump bashing chorus for the wrong reasons, the Times praised Obama’s disgraceful anti-DLT address last week.

Repeating the Big Lie about “Trump’s (nonexistent) relationship to (nonexistent) Russian (US election) hacking,” the Times praised Obama’s address, “blast(ing) Trump by name (for) the first time” – what former US presidents rarely ever did against current ones.

Jimmy Carter once called the Bush/Cheney regime “the worst in (US) history” – saying in follow-up remarks he was “not talking personally about any president.”

Gerald Ford’s criticism of Bush/Cheney’s Iraq policy was only quoted posthumously per his request.

Nixon once criticized GHW Bush for comparing himself to Harry Truman during his 1992 reelection campaign. Eisenhower disagreed with Jack Kennedy’s domestic policies. Other former US presidents made unflattering remarks about successors.

Former US presidents most often refrain from speaking disrespectfully about their successors or other past US leaders. None conspired with dark forces to oust a sitting US president by coup d’etat.

Obama went way beyond what any of his predecessors dared do – formally joining the diabolical cabal, wanting Trump illegally removed from office. Clearly he’s been involved all along, likely straightaway after DLT’s inauguration.

Former presidents usually respect the right of their successors to govern without interference.

Obama changed the rules, likely supported by big money backers and other sinister dark forces.

He and former aide Valerie Jarrett set up an anti-Trump nerve center early last year in his luxury home two miles from the White House.

He openly supports orchestrated anti-DLT protests when they occur, earlier saying “citizens exercising their constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake.”

So-called US “values” include raping and destroying nations, targeting all independent ones for regime change, carving up whole continents for profit, force-feeding neoliberal harshness on humanity, and cracking down hard on nonbelievers.

Last year, Obama said he “and his aides expected to take on President Donald Trump…” He’s likely been at it all along, plotting to undermine governance the way it should be more than already.

The Times praised his back-stabbing agenda, itself part of the sinister anti-Trump coup plot.

The self-styled newspaper of record “welcome(d) back” Obama to the public stage, adding “(y)our country was crying for help and you heard it.”

Attempts to replace leaders with new ones, other than through democratic elections, are flagrantly illegal.

The Times supports the stuff banana republics are made of, serving as a press agent for dark forces in America wanting Trump removed from office for the wrong reasons – a diabolical agenda perhaps able succeed.
