US Media Back Elimination of Venezuelan Social Democracy
Media scoundrels never met a US war of aggression, color revolution, or coup like what’s being attempted in Venezuela they didn’t wholeheartedly endorse and cheerlead — rule of law principles and human misery caused by Washington’s imperial agenda be damned.
More below on Tuesday’s US-orchestrated turbulence in Venezuela.
The Trump regime’s attempt to eliminate Venezuelan social democracy by coup d’etat was dead on arrival.
Convenient US stooge Guaido’s call for Venezuela’s military to back the coup plot fell flat. Their commanders expressed loyalty to the republic, opposition to the US-staged coup plot, President Maduro explained, tweeting (in translation from Spanish to English):
“Nerves of steel! I have talked with the Commanders of all the REDI and ZODI of the Country, who have manifested their total loyalty to the People, to the Constitution and to the Homeland. I call the maximum popular mobilization to ensure the victory of La Paz. Overcome!”
A handful easily put down disloyalists support the coup plot. Holding Guaido and his henchmen accountable is long overdue.
He remains under investigation for criminal activity by Venezuela’s Supreme Court and prosecutor general.
Accountability for involvement in wanting the country’s legitimate government toppled is just a matter of time.
The self-styled newspaper of record NYT is in the vanguard of wanting fascist tyranny replacing Bolivarian social democracy in Venezuela — operating as a virtual CIA/Pentagon mouthpiece.
The latest US-orchestrated coup plot chapter was as ill-conceived as what preceded it since January. Not according to the Times, citing Guaido’s Big Lie, claiming calls for a military coup flanked by men in uniform “was a definitive moment in toppling the government.”
A handful of disloyalists couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag, let alone topple a legitimate sitting government — Tuesday events more a tempest in a teapot than anything threatening.
The Big Lie continued, Guaido quoted by the Times saying “(w)e are counting on the people of Venezuela today. The armed forces are clearly on the side of the people.”
They’re on the side of Venezuela’s legitimate government and social democracy, against him and the Trump regime’s coup plot.
The Times repeated the Big Lie claim that Maduro’s May 2018 reelection “was widely seen as fraudulent” — only by US hardliners, their imperial partners, convenient stooge Guaido and his henchmen.
The neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post pretended that Tuesday events in Venezuela represent a “final phase” of the Trump regime’s plot to topple Maduro.
WaPo quoted Guaido farcically claiming he was “with the main military units of our armed forces,” calling Tuesday events the “irreversible” end game (sic) to force Maduro from office.
He was with a handful of disloyalist nobodies, foolishly attempting to overcome overwhelming opposition to complicity with Trump regime hardliners.
On national television, chief prosecutor Tarek William Saab said “(o)ur position is to defend democracy. We will not hesitate to act, without violating the constitution, against the ones who have led an embarrassing show.”
“We will act, with all calm, at the right moment.” Elements involved will be held accountable. WaPo quoted neocon hardliner Marco Rubio’s over-the-top tweet, saying:
“This is the moment for those military officers in #Venezuela to fulfill their constitutional oath (sic) & defend the legitimate interim President @jguaido (sic), in this effort to restore democracy (sic). You can write history in the hours & days ahead (sic).”
Rubio is waging near-daily Twitter war on Venezuela, conducting his own campaign for regime change, notably pushing for US military intervention.
On Tuesday, he went overboard in English and Spanish with over two dozen tweets, calling for Maduro’s ouster, wanting Venezuelan social democracy eliminated, falsely claiming the coup attempt is for “legitimate constitutional government” he abhors.
It doesn’t get any worse in Congress than the fascist extremism he represents, matching what Pompeo, Bolton and Abrams represent — Nazism in Washington.
