US Fingerprints All Over Violent Protest in Russia?
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The US imperial playbook calls for destabilizing sovereign independent nations targeted for regime change — Russia, China, and Iran most of all.
Weeks of protests in Hong Kong have US manipulated fingerprints all over them. China’s state media called violent demonstrations a “conspiracy with the West.”
Last spring, Hong Kong opposition figures met with House Speaker Pelosi and Pompeo, clearly discussing anti-Beijing strategy.
Chinese authorities are furious about violent protests they believe were made in the USA.
The Islamic Republic said foreign influence was behind years earlier anti-government demonstrations and more recent 2018 violence, pointing fingers at the US.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry expressed a similar view, saying “(e)xternal interference destabilizing the situation (in Iran) is unacceptable.”
A common denominator behind violence in Hong Kong, Iran, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Russia, and elsewhere is destabilizing these countries — US dirty hands manipulating what’s going on now and earlier.
In 2009, the right-wing Brookings Institution published a regime change playbook titled “Which Path to Persia?”
Presenting options for toppling Iran’s legitimate government, the diabolical scheme applies to all ruling authorities bipartisan US hardliners want replaced by pro-Western puppet rule.
Playbook options include marginalizing, weakening, isolating, containing, coopting, and/or smashing targeted nations.
Last weekend, an estimated 3,500 anti-government elements were involved in an unauthorized Moscow rally. Violence erupted when provocateurs tried and failed to break through police lines near Mayor Sergei Sobyanin’s office.
Business Daily RBC reported that bottles were thrown at police, adding “provocateurs” called for confronting them.
Clashes erupted. Numerous elements involved were detained during earlier violent demonstrations.
RT reported that Saturday’s violence “followed an authorized rally seven days previously (that) passed off peacefully,” no disruptive elements involved.
Right-wing extremist, anti-government figure, convicted embezzler, Alexey Navalny was involved on Saturday, why the rally was not authorized.
A longtime US/Western darling, he’s a phony anti-corruption activist, a self-serving opportunist, a political nobody with scant public support — funded by the CIA and anti-democratic National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
He was barred from running in the March 2018 presidential election because of his embezzlement conviction.
It hardly mattered because of Putin’s popularity and Navalny’s negligible public support.
His bid to enter the 2018 race was publicity stunt, likely pushed by Trump regime hardliners. According to Russian law, convicted felons can’t run for president until 10 years after their sentence expires or is officially recognized as served.
Named a Yale World Fellow in 2010, Navalny ws described “a lawyer, political and financial activist and politician (sic),” adding:
“In September 2013 he ran in the Moscow mayoral election, challenging a Kremlin-backed incumbent for the seat” — losing decisively.
He “gained international recognition for the populist campaign targeting corruption (sic) and promoting democracy (sic)” — he and his hardline US backers revile.
He “spearheaded legal challenges on behalf of minority shareholders in large Russian companies, including Gazprom, Bank VTB, Sberbank, Rosneft, Transneft, and Surgutneftegaz, through the Union of Minority Shareholders (sic).”
“He has successfully forced companies to disclose more information to their shareholders and has sued individual managers at several major corporations for allegedly corrupt practices (sic).”
He’s “co-founder of the (anti-democratic) Democratic Alternative movement and was vice-chairman of the Moscow branch of the political party YABLOKO.”
“In 2010, he launched RosPil, a public project funded by unprecedented fundraising in Russia” — US dirty hands involved.
“In 2011 he started RosYama, an organization combating fraud in the road construction sector (sic).”
He’s a US/Western puppet, a convenient stooge, his actions manipulated by Wall Street, other monied interests, and anti-Russia US officials.
His so-called Democratic Alternative is an NED creation, its funding behind it, Navalny a front man serving US imperial interests, including its disruptive activities.
In March 2014, weeks after the Obama regime replaced democratic Ukrainian governance with Nazi-infested fascist rule, the Russophobic NYT gave Navalny feature op-ed space.
Titling his propaganda piece “How to Punish Putin,” he lied calling himself a “pro-reform, pro-democracy” political aspirant (sic). He’s a fascist opposed to democratic values.
He falsely accused Putin of invading Ukraine. The
Russian Federation never attacked another country aggressively, what the US, NATO, Israel, and their despotic partners do repeatedly.
He lied calling himself a “patriot.” He’s a traitor for acting in cahoots with the US to destabilize Russia.
He lied accusing what he called “the Kremlin mafia (of) pillag(ing) the nation’s wealth (sic).”
His so-called “Anti-Corruption Foundation” is a front operation for US imperial interests.
He lied accusing Putin of “malign intent” — a line straight from the State Department’s interventionist playbook.
Russian democracy shames America’s sham version. The country is targeted by the US for its sovereign independence, opposition to the US imperial agenda, support for multi-world polarity, and military superiority hardliners in Washington want neutralized.
Navalny and other fifth-column elements in Russia are hostile to governance serving everyone equitably they pretend to support.
A Final Comment
Navalny was arrested last week for involvement in the violent protest, sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Reportedly he had an allergic skin reaction, was hospitalized, stabilized, and returned to his cell.
Conspiracists claimed Russia may have poisoned him, leaving unmentioned his scant public support.
He’s a threat to no one but his anti-democratic followers for supporting his extremism over democratic values.
