Sergey Lavrov Slams Malign Imperial Actions
US ruling authorities since the 1980s exceeded the worst of their predecessors, mostly post-9/11, the Trump regime most dangerous to world peace of all.
The US-staged 9/11 mother of all false flags opened the gates of hell against humanity, pushing things closer to the abyss of catastrophic nuclear war, a doomsday scenario if launched.
During the height of the 1962 missiles of October crisis, Soviet leader Nikita Krushchev warned about “pushing mankind toward the abyss of a world nuclear missile war” by letter to Jack Kennedy.
When things were resolved, JFK said throughout days of crisis, he “never had the slightest intention of” attacking Soviet Russia in Cuba or anywhere else.
Surrounded by neocon/war-mongering right wing extremists, geopolitical know-nothing Trump is no Jack Kennedy, far from it.
He’s potentially easy to be manipulated into crossing a Rubicon of no return by attacking Iran if he recklessly goes this far — perhaps using a major CIA-staged false flag, wrongfully blamed on Iran as a pretext for war.
On July 26 at a BRICS ministerial summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed major threats facing the world community.
He criticized imperial aims “to artificially maintain…dominance, stooping to blackmail, threats, and unfair and unscrupulous competition,” clearly pointing fingers at Washington, adding:
“Efforts are being made to undermine international institutions and universal agreements.”
“Instead of genuine multilateral diplomacy, decisions by narrow ‘interest-based coalitions’ are pushed through in order to aggressively impose them later on everyone else.”
“The organizers of such illegal actions (headquartered in Washington with branch offices in other Western capitals and Tel Aviv) are trying to usurp the very notion of the ‘international community.’ ”
Bipartisan US hardliners and their imperial partners promote and pursue their destructive “rules-based order” — their rules opposed to the rule of law, peace, equity and justice.
What’s been going on for decades, hardened under Trump, is all about “ensur(ing) the monopoly of (US-led) Western (nations) on decision-making (on) global issues,” Lavrov stressed.
Russia prioritizes adherence to UN Charter provisions and other international laws. Its ruling authorities pursue mutual cooperation among the world community of nations, respecting their sovereign rights and territorial integrity — polar opposite how the US and its imperial partners operate.
Lavrov slammed international law breaches in the pursuit of imperial aims, “resulting in increased tensions and violence in the Middle East, North Africa and other regions of the world, the expansion of untenable practices of unilateral coercive measures in circumvention of the UN Security Council, and the extraterritorial application of national laws.”
He stressed that overcoming crises and resolving differences among nations depends on “equitable dialogue, political and diplomatic solutions with unconditional respect for international legal norms, including respect for sovereignty, the prohibition on interfering in countries’ internal affairs and on the use of force or the threat of force. Only such an approach can ensure viable and lasting settlements.”
Russia’s position is polar opposite US actions against Iran, Venezuela, Syria, Yemen, China, and other sovereign independent countries.
Lavrov warned that unacceptable US toughness against Iran “reached a dangerous point fraught with the risk of a large-scale military clash. This cannot be allowed to happen,” he stressed.
Russia opposes proposals by the US and Britain to more greatly militarize the Middle East by establishing provocative maritime security operations against nonexistent threats — creating them by the presence of their warships in a tinderbox part of the world.
Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov called for non-militarized “collective security for the Persian Gulf area” — promoting peace and stability, opposing US/UK actions, pushing things toward possible greater war in a region already devastated from US-led aggression.
Days earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that his country “has been and will continue to be the most principal preserver of security and shipping freedom in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Sea of Oman” — the steward of regional maritime security.
The US and its imperial partners constitute an unprecedented global menace.
Unthinkable US war on nonbelligerent war remains an ominous possibility — what Russia is going all-out to prevent.
