NYT Big Lie Claims Saving America Depends on Impeaching Trump
Times propagandist Tom Friedman is at it again, this time claiming saving the republic depends on impeaching and removing Trump from office.
Journalism Professor Emeritus Robert Jensen earlier slammed Friedman, calling him shallow and narcissistic, saying he tells the nation’s privileged class what it wants to hear.
He’s noted for “underinflated insights, twisted metaphors, second-rate thinking, third-rate writing (and) hack journalis(m),” adding:
“He’s the perfect oracle for a management-focused, advertising-saturated, dumbed-down, imperial culture that doesn’t want to come to terms with the systemic and structural reasons for its decline.”
He “never goes very far beyond parroting the powerful and comforting the comfortable.”
His “secret to success is in avoiding the journalistic ideals of ‘speaking truth to power…He sees the world from the point of view of the privileged” and powerful, pushing the official narrative they want spread, maintaining silence on what they want suppressed.
It shows in his columns no responsible editors would touch, all rubbish all the time, material unfit to print or read.
Friedman is paid to lie for powerful interests. He long ago abandoned what journalism is all about to provide the nation’s privileged class with mouthpiece services.
Friedman: “(T)he facts…are not in doubt (sic)…Trump held up congressionally directed taxpayer funding to strengthen Ukraine’s military against Russia until the new Ukrainian president agreed to do what Trump called a ‘favor. (sic).’ ”
Trump was “scheming to use our tax dollars to knock out his most feared opponent in the coming election (sic).”
Fact: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky debunked the above accusations, saying there was no bribe, no quid pro quo, no blackmail threat, no conspiracy in dealings with Trump.
Friedman: “The only reason the plot was aborted was that a whistle-blower from the intelligence community (sic) drew attention to the president’s plan, forcing him to release the money to Ukraine.”
Fact: CIA character assassin Eric Ciaramella, with ties to Joe Biden and other undemocratic Dems, masqueraded as a whistleblower. No real one exists.
He’s a registered Dem who worked in the Obama regime White House, a vocal Trump critic involved in falsely blaming Russia for US election meddling in 2016, what never happened.
Friedman: “If we say…Trump did…not (commit) an impeachable offense, we are telling ourselves and every future president that — in direct contradiction of what the founders wrote in the Constitution — it is OK to enlist a foreign power to tilt the election your way (sic).”
Fact: No evidence suggests Trump demanded or accepted special favors from Ukraine to aid his reelection campaign. No evidence proves he breached the Constitution’s Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 stating:
“(N)o one holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.”
Friedman: “If Congress were to do what Republicans demand — forgo impeaching this president for enlisting a foreign power to get him elected (sic), after he refused to hand over any of the documents that Congress had requested and blocked all of his key aides who knew what happened from testifying — we would be saying that a president is henceforth above the law (sic).”
Fact: Trump refused to cooperate with the Dems’ impeachment inquiry, and requested other White House officials not to, because what’s going on is one of the most disgraceful political spectacles in US history.
It’s a witch-hunt scam that’s all about aiming to give Dems a political advantage in 2020 presidential and congressional elections — along with seeking revenge against Trump for defeating media darling Hillary.
Friedman: If Trump isn’t impeached, “the America that the rest of the world has so long admired as a beacon of democracy and justice (sic) will be no more (sic).”
Friedman doesn’t even lie well, a pathetic figure, producing drivel as a paid propagandist.
What Times editors feature, legitimate ones wouldn’t permit being broadcast or published, what adherents of journalistic principles would never write.
I yield to Jenson for the last word. Friedman’s columns bear testimony to “the obvious: the emperor’s messenger has no clothes.”
A Final Comment
Followers of my work know I’m a fierce Trump critic.
I want him and others in Washington, the vast majority, held accountable for high crimes of war and against humanity, along with betraying the public trust by serving privileged interests exclusively at the expense of most others.
These are real impeachable offenses, what fake news proliferators like Friedman, the Times, and other establishment media systematically suppress in deference to powerful powerful interests — at the expense of truth-telling and full disclosure on issues mattering most.
