Netanyahu Regime Desecrates Body of Murdered Gazan
Run by fascist hooligans and religious fundamentalists, Israel is no ordinary country.
Nuclear armed and dangerous, it’s a global menace, a cancer in one of the world’s hot spots by its actions in cahoots with the US and NATO.
Long ago having abandoned the rule of law, it operates by its own rules extrajudicially, accountability for its high crimes of war, against humanity, and slow-motion genocide never forthcoming.
On Sunday, Israeli soldiers murdered several Palestinians in cold blood, live fire and terror-bombing injuring others in Gaza near Khan Younis.
Wounded Gazans were trying to retrieve bodies for a proper burial.
The IDF falsely claimed individuals shot were trying to place a bomb near the barrier separating Gaza from Israel, no evidence presented suggesting it.
Video footage posted online showed an IDF bulldozer, accompanied by a tank, desecrating a dead Palestinian’s body by lifting and dropping it to the ground several times, then dragging it to the Israeli side of the border.
The Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) explained what happened as follows:
Israeli forces fired “artillery shells and live bullets at two persons who were 100 meters from the border fence with Israel in eastern ‘Abassan al-Jadida, eastern Khan Younis.”
“Minutes later, a group of Palestinian civilians arrived (on the scene) followed by an ambulance, and tried to recover the dead bodies.”
They “approached one of the dead bodies while carrying a stretcher in an attempt to recover the body.”
“They managed to pull out the body and place it on the stretcher and march westward a few meters.”
Soldiers “fired lived bullets at them, wounding Mohammed Khaled al-Najjar (19) in his lower body, forcing the young men to leave the dead body on the stretcher and evacuated al-Najjar in a civilian car that carried him into an ambulance.”
“They later returned to the scene to evacuate the person on the stretcher. Meanwhile, an (Israeli bulldozer) and tank moved into the location and sped in their direction.”
Soldiers used live fire on Palestinians trying retrieve the dead. One Palestinian was lethally shot.
Eyewitnesses and video evidence revealed how Israel desecrated the body of a dead Gazan.
The IDF bulldozer “continued abusing the dead man’s body for 3 minutes in an attempt to lift him in a way that violates the sanctity of death.”
The bulldozer “carried him from his upper cloths as his body hanged in a tormenting manner, and retreated into the Israeli side of the border fence.”
Two of the dead were Islamic Jihad members. In response, the group fired rockets at Israel, no injuries or damage reported.
Israel responded by terror-bombing sites in the Strip, striking targets in Syria at the same time.
The Adalah Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel denounced the Netanyahu regime’s criminal actions, saying:
Lethally shooting and dragging the corpse of a dead Palestinian “is a war crime.”
Adalah sent an “urgent letter” to Israeli chief military advocate General Sharon Afek, “demanding he immediately open a criminal investigation into” the incident.
Adalah attorney Sawsan Zaher accused the Netanyahu regime of breaching the Rome Statute of the International Court, the UN Convention Against Torture, the Hague Regulations, and other international laws.
Israeli Basic Law prohibits what happened. Israel’s Supreme Court upheld the prohibition of desecrating a human body.
Whenever investigations of Israeli war crimes are conducted whitewash virtually always follows, accountability ignored when Palestinians are killed in cold blood or otherwise harmed.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said four Gazans were injured by Israeli terror-bombing strikes and were hospitalized for treatment — no further information provided.
What happened over the weekend is commonplace Israeli brutality against defenseless Palestinians throughout the Territories — the world community largely turning a blind eye to its high crimes.
