Evidence Shows Israel Behind Assassination of Iranian Nuclear Scientist

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

There never was any doubt about Israel’s responsibility for assassinating eminent Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh last November.

Perhaps CIA hitmen were complicit with Mossad for what happened.

Along with trying to provoke Iranian retaliation that would draw the Trump regime into attacking the country militarily, what happened also aimed to try preventing Biden/Harris from rejoining the JCPOA when they take over later this month.

What happened was unrelated to Iran’s legitimate nuclear program.

US and Israeli intelligence, IAEA monitors, and establishment media know Iranian nuclear activities have no military component.

Fakhrizadeh headed Iran’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND).

He was assassinated while in his car driving by multiple assailants 40 km northeast of Tehran.

Explosives and gunfire took his life in what was a carefully orchestrated incident.

Security guards with him were also killed, along with three or four hitmen.

According to Iranian Defense Minister General Amir Hatami, Fakhrizadeh’s assassins were identified — his remarks made by letter to counterparts in 60 countries.

“Silence on this terrorist act will result in its repetition and insecurity in the world,” he stressed.

Fragments of weapons used to kill  Fakhrizadeh showed they were made in Israel, the Netanyahu regime behind what happened.

According to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) secretary Ali Shamkhani, electronic equipment used in the assassination was “highly complicated.”

It had Israeli fingerprints all over it.

The operation “was carried out by using electronic equipment and no one (terrorist) was present on the scene,” Shamkhani explained, adding:

“(T)he identity and records of the designer of the operation has been discovered by us.”

US/Israeli supported MKO terrorists were involved “and certainly the Zionist regime and Mossad…the criminal mastermind of this incident.”

An Iranian Intelligence Ministry statement said the following:

“All the elements involved in the assassinations of the country’s nuclear scientists have been identified and arrested.”

“A number of countries, whose territories and facilities had been misused by the Mossad-backed terrorist teams, have provided the Iranian officials with relevant information.”

“Over the course of the investigations, all other elements behind the assassinations of the Iranian scientists Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, Majid Shahriari and Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan as well as Reza Qashqaei (Roshan’s driver) have been apprehended.”

“Some of the perpetrators of the assassination of Dr. Fereidoun Abbasi, the current head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, are among those arrested.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said the following last November after Fakhrizadeh’s assassination:

“…Fakhrizadeh, a prominent nuclear and defense scientist of the country, was martyred by criminal and cruel mercenaries.”

“The unique scientific figure gave his dear and precious soul in the way of God for his great and lasting scientific efforts, and the high position of martyrdom is his divine reward.”

“Two important issues should be seriously put on the agenda by all relevant officials.”

“First, probing the crime and the definite punishment of those who perpetrated and ordered it.”

Then “pursuing and continuing the martyr’s scientific and technical efforts in all the sectors in which he was engaged.”

On Thursday, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Mohammad Baqeri said the following:

“Both the criminal US and infanticide Zionists were extremely angry and furious with (Fakhrizadeh) and chased him,” adding:

Revenge for what happened will come at a time, place, and way of Iran’s discretion.

Last weekend, Iranian President Rouhani said “enemies” of the Islamic Republic “should know well that the Iranian nation and officials are too brave and too courageous to leave this criminal act unanswered,” adding:

“The relevant officials will give a response to their crime in due time, and in addition, the Iranian nation is too wise and too smart to fall into the trap of the Zionists’ plot.”

Iranian intelligence determined regional locations where Mossad assassins operate from, including where they’re trained in state-terror tactics.

Separately, Iranian General Abdolrahim Mousavi vowed “harsh revenge” for the Trump regime’s assassination of Iran’s freedom-fighting Quds Force commander General Qassem Soleimani in January last year, saying:

“The smallest goal that is pursued by us in this revenge strike is the expulsion and cutting off of the feet of the Americans from the region.”

As long as regional countries are occupied by US forces, a state of permanent war will continue endlessly against targeted Middle East countries threatening no one.

That’s how the scourge of US imperialism operates.
