Iran Seeking Nukes? The Big Lie That Won’t Die!

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

Note the glaring hypocrisy!

Time and again, hardline Israeli regimes falsely accuse Iran of seeking nukes.

No credible evidence is ever presented to corroborate the claim — just invented rubbish.

Left unsaid is the elephant in the room in plain sight to see.

Since development began in the 1950s — with US help — Israel became and remains nuclear armed and dangerous.

It maintains stockpiles of chemical, biological, and other banned weapons that are used in Jewish state wars of aggression — notably during three preemptive wars on Gaza in 2008-09, 2012, and 2014.

Dr. Mads Gilbert treated Gaza victims pro bono, his Eyes of Gaza explaining the horrors he saw.

He treated children with legs blown off, abdomens sliced open, and injuries he never saw before — many caused by banned terror weapons

He called Israel’s Cast Lead war the “most horrific experience” of his life.

He noted Palestinian bodies ravaged by severe internal chemical, biological and radiological burns, including effects of toxic gases.

During Israel’s Protective Edge war, his chilling account of what he saw firsthand explained “scores and carloads with (the) maimed, torn apart, bleeding, shivering, dying – all sorts of injured Palestinians, all ages, all civilians, all innocent.”

“HUMANS! Now, once more treated like animals by ‘the most moral army in the world (sic).’ ”

“I just want to scream, hold someone tight, cry, smell the skin and hair of the warm child, covered in blood, protect ourselves in an endless embrace.”

“We still have lakes of blood on the floor in the ER, piles of dripping, blood-soaked bandages…”

“The cleaners (are) everywhere, swiftly shoveling the blood and discarded tissues, hair, clothes, cannulas – the leftovers from death – all taken away…(only) to be prepared again, to be repeated all over.”

In stark contrast, the Islamic Republic of Iran never launched preemptive attacks against other nations, never threatened preemption.

Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s earlier fatwa banned development of nukes — calling them incompatible with Islam.

Last Friday, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran head Ali Akbar Salehi said the AEOI will begin enriching uranium to 20% — the pre-JCPOA level.

On Monday, Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiyee said uranium enrichment to this level began at the nation’s Fordow nuclear facility.

President Hassan Rouhani ordered the step to be taken, what’s permitted under JCPOA articles 26 and 36 because the US and E3 countries breached their mandated obligations.

Rouhani explained that if the US and E3 countries comply with what’s required by JCPOA signatories — now breached — Iranian nuclear enrichment will be reduced to a 3.67 level as agreed on when the nuclear deal was unanimously affirmed by Security Council members in 2015.

At least 90% purity uranium is required for producing nukes.

Increasing uranium enrichment to 20% is far below what it takes to develop and produce them.

No credible evidence earlier or now suggests Iran’s intention to go where it’s never gone before, a step banned by its Supreme Leader’s fatwa — making it binding on the nation’s government and AEOI.

True to form once again, Netanyahu  falsely said the following on Monday:

“Iran’s decision to continue violating its commitments (sic), to increase the level of enrichment and advance its abilities to enrich uranium underground cannot be explained in any way other than the continued implementation of its intention to develop a military nuclear program (sic),” adding:

“Israel will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons (sic).”

Time and again earlier, Netanyahu and other Israeli regime officials defied reality by falsely claiming that Iran intends to pursue development of nukes.

No credible evidence remotely verifies the fabricated claim every time made.

On Monday, an IAEA statement said that its “inspectors were present at the (Fordow) site to detach the Agency’s seal from a cylinder with the feed material” for increased uranium enrichment to 20%, adding:

“The cylinder was then connected to the feeding line to start the production of uranium enriched up to” this level.

“The six cascades had been reconfigured as three sets of two interconnected cascades, comprising a total of 1044 IR-1 centrifuges.”

Iran had previously informed the agency of its intention to start producing uranium enriched up to 20%.”

US/Israeli claims about an earlier secret Iranian nuclear weapons program that was halted years earlier are unsupported by credible evidence because none exists.

Separate claims, when made, about the alleged threat of an Iranian attack on Israel or other regional states also lacked credibility.

The US and Israel are nuclear armed and dangerous.

They’re perpetually at war by hot and other means against invented enemies — accountability never forthcoming.

Iran prioritizes peace, stability, and cooperative relations with other countries, confrontation with none.

There’s no ambiguity about which nations threat world peace in stark contrast to Iran’s polar opposite agenda — deserving praise, not condemnation by falsified accusations.
