NYT War on Truth and Full Disclosure
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
The Times and other establishment media are mouthpieces for the US imperial state and corporate interests.
They’re mortal enemies of truth, full disclosure, and what journalism is supposed to be.
They one-sidedly support privileged interests at the expense of public health, well-being, and other fundamental rights cherished by free and open societies.
They manipulate the public mind in support of diabolical special interests.
On all things Iran and other nations free from US control, they wage editorial war on their sovereign independence, rights under international law, and welfare of their people.
Because of its global reach, the NYT is most diabolical of all — waging daily information war in cahoots with US dark forces.
On virtually all domestic and geopolitical issues mattering most, state-approved managed news misinformation and disinformation substitute for “all the news that’s fit to print” — a mind-manipulating slogan that’s polar opposite its diabolical agenda.
Times anti-Iran venom is a regular feature, rearing its ugly head time and again since its liberating 1979 revolution.
CIA and other US deep state talking points fill its propaganda reports on the country.
Last week, it perpetuated the myth of an Iranian nuclear weapons threat, what never existed and doesn’t now.
Creating its own reality, the Times falsely claimed that Iranian ruling authorities “are rethinking their vow to never seek a nuclear weapon” — a bald-faced Big Lie.
It cited fake US and Israeli “intelligence” suggesting much the same thing.
It’s state-approved reports on Iran ignore longstanding US war on the country and its people.
It maintains the separate myth of an overall Iranian threat. What doesn’t exist is claimed anyway.
In stark contrast to nuclear armed and dangerous USA and Israel waging forever wars, Iran fosters cooperative relations with other countries, at war with none, threatening none except in self-defense if attacked, its UN Charter right.
The Times defied reality, saying:
“Iran has been systematically disregarding elements of the (JCPOA) accord, including limits on its nuclear-fuel stockpile (sic).”
Unlike the US, Britain, France and Germany — in flagrant breach of their JCPOA obligations — Iran maintains full compliance with its provisions.
The Times falsely claimed otherwise, a practice it consistently repeats, assuring that nothing it reports can be taken at face value.
Saying “Biden appears ready” to rejoin the JCPOA is refuted by his regime’s hostile actions toward Iran.
Citing anonymous “Israeli intelligence officials” with no credibility on Iran, the Times falsely claimed that Tehran “amassed uranium sufficient to build almost three nuclear bombs (sic).”
Legitimate Iranian uranium enrichment is far below at least 90% purity required to develop nukes.
What’s produced is solely for legitimate commercial and research purposes. No evidence suggests otherwise.
On Monday, an anti-Iran Times propaganda piece falsely accused Iran of a “plot” against UAE diplomats — citing unnamed US and Israeli sources with no credibility.
According to the Times, “15 (unidentified) people…were (allegedly) casing the (UAE) embassy…in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa (sic).”
“American and Israeli officials” blamed Iran, citing no evidence because none exists.
Yet the Times claimed that an Iranian “sleeper cell (was) activated…in Addis Ababa” to spy on US and Israeli embassies in the city, adding:
Unnamed sources from their embassies claimed that what the Times called an “Ethiopian operation (is) part of a wider drive to seek soft targets in African countries where Iran” might act against US and Israeli interests.
You can’t make this stuff up. The Times report included no credible evidence, just anti-Iran rubbish.
It reads more like a fictional John le Carre or James Bond thriller than a diabolical Iranian plot no evidence suggests exists.
The fake news was likely concocted by the CIA or other US dark forces, fed to the Times that published it with no due diligence fact checking — its longstanding way of reporting on invented US enemies.
Its editorial war on Iran and other nations free from US control continues with no letup.
At all times, fake news disinformation substitutes for “all the news that’s fit to print.”
