Arab League War of Words on Iran

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

Despotic Arab League regimes support US-led imperial wars and related actions.

Domestically, they attack, kill, arrest, imprison, and/or brutalize their own people for seeking political, economic and social justice — what’s banned in their countries.

Days earlier, the league’s council defied reality by falsely accusing Iran of sponsoring regional terrorism and foreign occupation.

Most of its member states operate in cahoots with US-dominated NATO. They turn a blind eye to Israeli aggression, supporting US forever wars.

A league statement falsely claimed their support for “stability and economic prosperity in the Arabian Gulf region…founded on the importance of maintaining good neighborliness and the principles of sovereignty, independence, and non-interference in domestic affairs (sic).”

Their documented belligerence and ruthlessness are polar opposite the above subterfuge.

Support for “aggression (and) terrorist groups” is how they operate, not the Islamic Republic.

Their unacceptable war of words on Iran was sent to all UN member states.

Iran denounced their Big Lies, Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh saying the following:

“It is regrettable that some Arab countries are seeking to divert people’s attention from their wicked and destructive moves by arousing fictitious animosity instead of taking care of the key issues that the Arab world is facing, including attempts to pave the way for the Israeli regime’s presence in the region, disregard for the cause of Palestine, perpetuation of the cruel war against Yemen’s Arab people, and creation of the worst humanitarian disaster in the contemporary era, and years-long support for terrorism and terror groups,” adding:

“Countries whose destructive aggression over the past six years has not only destroyed basic infrastructure in Yemen, but also caused hunger, disease, displacement and poverty among millions of people, and who have the blood of innocent people on their hands, are trying to evade responsibility for these crimes by pressing baseless charges.”

“The rehashing of (phony anti-Iran accusation that include) futile claims about three Iranian islands has had, and will have no bearing on the existing historical, geographical and historical realities, and these islands are an integral part of the Iranian territory.”

Separately in response to Israeli saber-rattling threats, Iran’s Defense Minister General Amir Hatami said the Islamic Republic will smash Tel Aviv and Haifa if the Netanyahu regime attacks Iranian territory.

Netanyahu seeks to form a coalition of Arab states against Iran.

His scheme is part of longstanding US/Israeli aims to partition Middle East countries for easier control.

Israel is the only nation without official borders. From inception it was planned this way to extrajudicially annex more territory.

Its ruling regimes want the Middle East map redrawn to advance their revanchist aims.

To survive longterm, Israel believes it must dominate the region and become a world power.

Achieving its imperial aims requires dividing Arab nations and Iran into small, easily controlled states – partitioning them along ethnic and sectarian lines as weakened Israeli satellites.

The US, NATO, Israeli scheme is all about creating endless regional violence and chaos, exploited to their advantage for gaining control over regional nations and their valued resources.

Forever wars rage by hot and/or other means in pursuit of these diabolical objectives.
