Biden Regime Hardliners Like Their Predecessors

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

On all things China, Russia, Iran, and other nations free from US control, hardliners around Biden are as hostile to improved relations as their predecessors.

Regime change is official US policy, wanting these countries transformed into pro-Western vassal states – by brute force if other tactics fail.

Along with raping and destroying targeted countries, war by other means on many others aims to crush their economies and suffocate their people into submission.

The tactic consistently fails but continues anyway.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif tweeted the following:

“It’s sadly ironic that the State Dept is now calling on Iran to abide by the very deal the Trump (regime) abandoned.

Your (regime) follows Trump’s footsteps while trying to use his unlawful sanctions as leverage.

Nasty habits die hard. Time to kick this one.”

No US roadmap for reviving the JCPOA exists, just the opposite.

A Reuters report otherwise featured fake news.

If hardliners in charge of Biden’s foreign policy wanted the landmark nuclear deal saved, they’d have lifted illegally imposed sanctions and returned to JCPOA compliance straightaway.

Instead they made unacceptable demands no responsible government would accept.

They continue much the same thing, showing bad faith, not the other way around.

On Monday, Iran’s UN mission tweeted the following:

“Iran is in touch with the remaining participants in the #JCPOA on issues.

No proposal is needed for the US to rejoin the JCPOA.

It only requires a political decision by the US to fully and immediately implement all of its obligations under the accord and abide by UNSCR 2231

There’s no ambiguity about the above or Iran’s actions and intentions.

They’re above board, straightforward, and transparent in dealings with other world community nations.

Iran is in full compliance with its international law obligations.

It’s at peace with other nations, seeking confrontation with none.

Its ruling authorities consistently fulfill their obligations on the world stage — polar opposite how belligerent USA and its imperial partners operate.

On all things related to the JCPOA, Iran stressed that the US abandoned the landmark agreement and imposed illegal sanctions on the country, its entities and officials.

Iran is in full compliance with its provisions.

Resolving impasse between both countries is as simple as lifting unlawfully imposed sanctions and fulfilling Security Council Res. 2231 obligations that affirmed the landmark agreement — by the Biden regime.

Failing to take these steps while making unacceptable demands shows that Biden’s geopolitical team has no intention of fulfilling its international obligations.

At the same time, it falsely blames Iran for its own wrongdoing — how the US consistently operates in bad faith toward nations free from its control.

It’s one of many reasons why its ruling regimes can never be trusted.

As long as Iran remains free from US control, its ruling regimes will wage endless war on the country and its people by other means that risks turning hot if things are pushed too far.

A Final Comment

Separately according to Reuters, Brussels intends sanctioning Iranian officials — on the phony pretext of human rights abuses.

Names of targeted individuals to be revealed next week.

Defying reality, an unnamed EU diplomat said the bloc intends tough action against human rights violators.

The EU should be punishing its own egregious human rights violators, notably by partnering with US wars by hot and/or other means on invented enemies — not on targeted countries like Iran for invented reasons.

No legitimate ones exist.

This action if taken by Brussels — perhaps something similar coming from the US — will widen the breach between Iran and the West.

It may kill whatever chance remains of saving the JCPOA.

Is that the US and EU intend — while falsely blaming Iran for their own wrongdoing!
