Returning to the JCPOA a Dangerous Mistake?
Since replacing Trump, actions by the Biden regime toward Iran have been no different from its predecessor.
Biden’s hardline geopolitical team continues maximum pressure.
It opposes lifting all illegally imposed Trump regime sanctions on Iran.
The same goes for returning to the JCPOA in its original form as affirmed by Security Council Res. 2231 — making it binding international law the US and E 3 countries have been in flagrant breach of since May 2018.
Will Vienna talks change things?
Will Iranophobic Biden regime hardliners turn a page for more cooperative relations with Iran?
Henceforth will the sun rise in the West and set in the East?
No matter how events play out ahead, US hostility toward Iran — and other nations free from its control — will remain unchanged.
On Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the following:
“The definitive policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the lifting of all US sanctions, whether those which Trump re-imposed after withdrawing from the JCPOA or those which he initiated, as well as sanctions imposed under any other heading.”
As I explained time and again, unilaterally imposed sanctions by one nation on others flagrantly violate the UN Charter and other international laws.
Looking ahead, it’s uncertain whether the Biden regime will lift any illegally imposed US sanctions on Iran.
It’s near-certain that at least some, likely many, will remain in place.
It’s just as certain that new US sanctions will be illegally imposed on Iran ahead — for invented reasons with no legitimacy.
It’s highly unlikely that the Biden regime will rejoin the JCPOA as originally affirmed by Security Council members.
Its hardliners want a tougher deal with provisions no responsible government would accept.
Iran remains in full compliance with JCPOA provisions.
The US and E 3 breached theirs. Yet on Friday, Blinken deputy spokeswoman Jalina Porter defied reality, saying:
Talks in Vienna will focus on “nuclear steps that Iran would need to take in order to return to compliance with the terms of the JCPOA (sic).”
Like other Biden regime officials, she falsely blames Iran for flagrant US/E 3 breaches of their JCPOA obligations.
While talks continue this week, the following is virtually certain.
Whatever is agreed on by the US and E 3 — if anything — won’t be worth the paper it’s written on.
Nearly always, the US abandons bilateral/multilateral agreements, treaties, conventions, and other deals reached with other nations — sooner or later.
It’s virtually certain that if the Biden regime lifted all US illegally imposed sanctions and returned to JCPOA compliance, Washington would reverse these steps ahead.
The word of its ruling authorities can never be taken at face value.
Time and again, the US showed that it can never be trusted.
Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif was right saying they’ll be “no Iran-US meeting,” no renegotiating of what’s already been negotiated and agreed on.
The Heritage Foundation opposes virtually everything related to governance serving everyone equitably and world peace.
Its board of trustees includes a rogue’s gallery of right-wing extremists.
Weeks earlier, it said “returning to the JCPOA (would be) a dangerous mistake (sic).”
Falsely calling the landmark agreement “deeply flawed,” it ignored numerous Obama/Biden and Trump breaches that culminated with DJT’s illegal abandonment of the JCPOA.
Instead it falsely accused Iran of “never fully comply(ing)” with agreement — a bald-faced Big Lie.
It lied accusing Iran of maintaining an illicit nuclear weapons program that doesn’t exist — while ignoring nuclear armed and dangerous Israel, the only regional nation with these WMDs, along with undeclared stockpiles of chemical, biological and other banned weapons.
The Heritage Foundation called for a tougher agreement with unacceptable provisions Tehran won’t accept — nor should it.
It urged continued (illegal) maximum pressure on Iran — a nonbelligerent nation threatening no one.
It falsely called returning to the JCPOA in its original form “bowing to Tehran’s nuclear extortion (sic).”
It lied claiming that the landmark agreement “allow(s) Iran to set the stage for a nuclear breakout (sic).”
It lied calling Iran’s government “a hostile dictatorship (sic).”
It lied claiming Tehran pursued “nuclear weapons efforts” earlier (sic).
It lied accusing Iran of “repeatedly reneg(ing) on its nonproliferation obligations (sic), violat(ing) international laws (sic), and pocket(ing) past concessions without moderating its aggressive foreign policy (sic).”
All of the above apply to Washington, NATO, Israel, and their imperial partners — clearly not Iran as falsely claimed.
The Biden regime and Congress are stacked with Iranophobic elements as extreme as Heritage Foundation members.
It’s why chances for improved US relations with Iran are virtually nil.
US war on the country by other means for the past 42 years continues unchanged under Biden — while falsely blaming Tehran for its own breaches of international law.
