Biden Regime Hardliners Want North Korea Demilitarized and Weakened
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)
Since the Korean peninsula was divided post-WW II along the 38th parallel, unrelenting US hostility toward the DPRK followed.
Despite no threat by its ruling authorities to other nations, Washington considers Pyongyang an adversary because it remains free from US control and maintains military preparedness against feared aggression by its ruling regimes.
Throughout DPRK history, it never attacked another country, threatening none now except in self-defense if attacked, its legitimate UN Charter right.
Its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile deterrents are solely for defending the homeland.
They wouldn’t be needed if the ominous threat of preemptive US war on the country 2.0 didn’t represent a clear and present danger to its security.
Its ruling authorities legitimately seek what Washington was never willing to provide:
Durable peace and stability on the peninsula.
Iron-clad security guarantees.
Illegal sanctions lifted.
A formal end to preemptive US war on the country in the early 1950s, and the following:
Normalized relations with the US, West, and world community of nations for the first time in its history.
Summitry between Kim Jong-un and Trump failed because US dark forces sabotaged what they sought to achieve.
The US needs enemies to unjustifiably justify spending countless trillions of dollars in pursuit of its diabolical imperial agenda to rule the world unchallenged.
According to Biden regime press secretary Psaki, its “DPRK policy review (is) completed,” adding:
It “will not focus on achieving a grand bargain nor will it rely on strategic patience.”
State Department deputy spokeswoman Jalina Porter added the following on Friday:
“(W)e have completed our DPRK policy review.”
“(O)ur ultimate goal remains clear, and that is complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”
Its hardliners demand that Pyongyang dismantle its nuclear and ballistic missile programs in return for hollow US promises to be breached at its discretion.
In response on Sunday, Pyongyang’s Foreign Ministry Department of US Affairs head Kwon Jong-gun slammed the Biden regime’s characterization of the DPRK as a “serious threat,” adding:
The unacceptable remark is “illogical and an encroachment upon the DPRK’s right to self-defense.”
It reflects the Biden regime’s “intent to keep enforcing the (same) hostile policy toward the DPRK as” the US pursued throughout most of the post-WW II period.
Pyongyang “will be compelled to press for corresponding measures.”
The US faces a “very grave situation (because of the Biden regime’s) big blunder.”
Recent provocative Pentagon/South Korean military drills make it imperative for the DPRK to “build a powerful deterren(t)” to counter threatened US aggression.
In remarks by Biden’s double to Congress last week, he falsely called North Korean and Iranian nuclear programs “serious threats (sic)” to US and world security.
Separately, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry slammed world’s leading human rights abuser USA for vowing “accountability” for what it unacceptably called Pyongyang’s “egregious human rights situation,” adding:
The Biden regime is preparing for an “all-out showdown with us” for invented reasons — much like it threatens other nations free from US imperial control.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister/senior official Kim Yo-jong sharply criticized Seoul for permitting a so-called Fighters for a Free North Korea to drop hundreds of thousands of propaganda leaflets and booklets onto DPRK territory, Kim adding:
“We have already seriously warned the South Korean authorities of the consequences to be entailed by their wrong act of giving a silent approval to the human scum’s wild moves for North-South relations.”
What specific actions Biden regime hardliners intend to pursue in dealings with Pyongyang remain unclear.
What is clear is that dirty business as usual with nothing undertaken to improve bilateral relations looks virtually certain.
Since usurping power in January by brazen election rigging, the Biden regime escalated war by other means against Russia, China and now North Korea.
At the same time, its dominant hardliners have no intention of returning to the landmark JCPOA nuclear deal in its original form as required by international law.
Talks in Vienna are going nowhere because of unacceptable US demands in return for hollow promises to be breached like virtually always before.
All of the above and more like it is proof positive that the US can never be trusted.
An unprecedented threat to world peace and stability, engaging with its ruling regimes achieves nothing but betrayal whenever anything is agreed on.
It’s just a matter of time before its hardliners attack another nation preemptively.
Do they have North Korea in mind, a nation able to hit back hard against US regional forces and interests if attacked aggressively?
With dominant hardliners empowered in Washington, the threat of global war 3.0 remains ominously real.
