Perpetual Israeli State Terror Against Palestinians

Perpetual Israeli State Terror Against Palestinians

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Israeli state terror against millions of Palestinians occurs daily throughout the Occupied Territories.

It’s because of one-sided US/Western support for Israeli tyranny and world community indifference toward a people afforded no rights by their oppressor.

Virtually straightaway before echoes of IDF terror-bombing and shelling of Gaza faded, Israeli security forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque again violently.

Unprovoked, they brutally attacked worshipers inside after Friday prayers with tear gas, stun grenades, rubber-coated steel bullets, and beatings.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld falsely claimed nonviolent worshipers began to “riot” — a typical Israeli bald-faced Big Lie to try justifying what’s unjustifiable.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Israeli security forces injured about two dozen Palestinians, at least two requiring hospitalization for wounds sustained.

Al-Aqsa director Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani said an estimated $282,000 amount of damage was caused by “excessive (Israeli) force” inside and outside the mosque.

What happened on Friday is an everyday thing — occurring multiple times daily throughout the Occupied Territories.

Terrorizing Palestinian communities has been ongoing for decades unaccountably.

It’s part of longstanding Israeli policy to brutalize, intimidate, and dispossess them from their homes and land to make way for exclusive Jewish development and use — by land theft, ethnic cleansing, and mass murder.

According to former Fatah leader Nasser al-Qudwa, ceasefire in Gaza is meaningless.

Resolving nothing, “most probably we will see more of the same, more of the flare up situations, and more confrontations. and maybe even (another) confrontation in Gaza, or between Gaza and Israel itself.”

“(T)he current situation is untenable.”

New leadership is needed to replace the deeply corrupted/subservient to Israeli/Western interests PLO.

According to al-Qudwa, “change in my mind means changing persons, personalities, changing policies, as well as changing positions.”

“The continuation of what we have now will lead to only more problems and more catastrophes for the Palestinian people.”

Marwan Barghouti — or a figure of his stature — is needed to lead Palestinian resistance for rights denied them.

He’s Palestine’s most prominent political figure, a courageous freedom fighter, an advocate of resisting illegal Israeli occupation, why he was targeted in the first place.

In May 2004, he was wrongfully convicted on phony terrorism charges – receiving five consecutive life sentences plus 40 years for wanting Palestinians to live free from oppressive occupation on their own land in their own country.

A victim of Israeli viciousness like countless others, he remains wrongfully imprisoned to prevent him from leading the liberating struggle of long-suffering Palestinians.

If allowed to run for president, he’d win by a landslide, why he’s politically imprisoned for life.

Washington’s longstanding partnership with apartheid Israel — and support for its slow-motion genocide agenda — comes at the expense of Palestinian liberation and Middle East peace.

The Biden regime is as one-sided for Israel and dismissive toward Palestinian rights as its predecessor.

Dominant Israeli hardliners know it and take full advantage.

Long ago, Netanyahu said the US “can (be) move(d) very easily, move(d) in the right direction” to serve Israeli interests.

Throughout most of the post-WW II period, Israeli lobby power in the US has exerted enormous influence over the foreign policy of its ruling regimes and Congress.

Former Senator William Fulbright once called Congress “Israeli-occupied territory.”

According to former US Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Thomas Moorer:

“I’ve never seen a (US) president – I don’t care who he is – stand up to (the Israelis).”

“It just boggles the mind. They always get what they want.”

“The Israelis know what is going on all the time.”

“If the American people understood what a grip those people have got on our government, they would rise up in arms.”

“Our citizens certainly don’t have any idea what goes on.”

General James J. David (Ret.) once said the following:

“Is there any criminal act that Israel can do without being protected from criticism from the United States? If there is I haven’t seen it.”

“Israelis have committed acts that no other nation would dare get away with.”

“Shielding Israel from criticism and supporting the Jewish state no matter what crimes (it) commits has caused the US loss of respect around the world.”

In his book, titled “Beyond Chutzpah: On the Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History,” Norman Finkelstein discussed Israel’s longstanding abuse of power.

According to the scourge of Zionist tyranny, Palestinian self-defense is considered “terrorism,” Israeli Jews their “eternal victim.”

Justifiable criticism of Jewish state viciousness is considered anti-Semitic.

Jews critical of Israeli oppression are called self-hating and similar pejoratives.

Academics and others in the West risk dismissal by employers for criticizing Israeli oppression of Palestinians and its wars of aggression.

According to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, 11 days of Israeli mass slaughter and destruction in Gaza cannot go unchallenged.

The human rights group is “establishing a comprehensive legal documentation of the aggression and its implications on the victims and the Gaza Strip infrastructure.”

It called on “the international Criminal Court to open an investigation into the occupation’s crimes during this military aggression…”

It “reiterate(d) its call upon the High Contracting Parties to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations under Article 1; i.e., to respect and ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances and their obligations under Article 146 to prosecute persons alleged to commit grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention.”

“These grave breaches constitute war crimes under Article 147 of the same Convention and Protocol (I) Additional to the Geneva Conventions regarding the guarantee of Palestinian civilians’ right to protection in the” Occupied Territories.

Decades of Israeli state terror and its forever war on Palestinians can no longer be tolerated.

Long overdue accountability is essential.

Law Professor Francis Boyle earlier volunteered to bring the US before the International Court of Justice for aiding and abetting Israeli genocide against the Palestinian People in violation of Article III(e) of the 1948 Genocide Convention that expressly criminalizes ‘complicity’ in genocide.”

I hope I’m around long enough to witness both the US and Israel pronounced guilty by the ICJ — and perhaps other international tribunals — for decades of crimes of war, against humanity and genocide.
