Blinken and Netanyahu Support Endless War and Subjugation of Palestinians

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

There’s no ambiguity about one-sided US/Western support for Israel and indifference toward Palestinian rights and well-being.

It’s been this way for time immemorial.

Biden regime hardliners continue unacceptable policies of their predecessors with no end of it ahead.

Israel assaults millions of Palestinians throughout the Occupied Territories daily — with full US-led Western support and encouragement while falsely claiming otherwise.

During their Tuesday press conference, Blinken and Netanyahu fooled no one paying attention by claiming a shared commitment to “peace, security and prosperity” for Jews and Arabs alike.

Reality is another matter entirely. The US values Israel as an extension of its regional military presence that aims for unchallenged Middle East and global dominance.

Wars by hot and other means are their favored options — peace, stability and compliance with the rule of law ruled out like always for the past 73 years.

Whenever Israel claims it’s responding to alleged Palestinian violence or other provocations, never explained is daily Jewish state oppression throughout the Occupied Territories — in flagrant breach of the UN Charter, Fourth Geneva and other international laws.

Never explained as well is that alleged Palestinian “terrorism” is their UN Charter right of self-defense against brutal occupation harshness — what they endure daily.

Gazans suffer most under a protracted medieval-type blockade in flagrant violation of international law.

When Israel attacks the Strip or elsewhere in Occupied Palestine, the IDF considers civilian men, women, children, infants, the elderly and infirm legitimate targets.

At times of war, civilians are protected persons under international law — what nearly always is left unexplained in establishment media reports.

Nor is legitimate resistance against suffocating/illegal occupation explained — the right of all Palestinians and other oppressed people.

Most often, establishment media falsely blame victims for high crimes committed against them.

It’s unclear whether they’ve shifted their one-sided pro-Israel reports to more balanced ones, even partially.

A few roses don’t suggest summer but offer some hope.

A previous article discussed an exception to longstanding NYT pro-Israel reporting — discussing Palestinian “misery at the heart of the conflict.”

I asked if its criticism reflected a sea change on all things Israel or if it’ll pass when echoes of 11 horrific days in May fade?

Most likely the latter, but hope springs eternal.

Last week, a Washington Post report explained that “Palestinians in Israel are never permitted to forget (that they’re) second-class citizens.”

The above applies to a greater extent throughout the Occupied Territories.

It’s Israel’s “apartheid” policy, WaPo explained, adding:

“(S)ocial media (are) filled with terrifying images of rampaging Jewish mobs — abetted or enabled by the police — and break-ins at Palestinian homes” with no accountability for criminal actions.

Separate, unequal, and denied rights affirmed under international law is longstanding — Western supported — Israeli policy toward Occupied Palestinians and Jewish state Arab citizens.

So is daily oppression of Palestinians and wars at its discretion on the phony pretext of self-defense by a nation without enemies so they’re invented to justify what’s unjustifiable.

With interventionist Blinken on Tuesday, Netanyahu promised a “very powerful response” if ceasefire is broken by Palestinians.

Like always before, he ignored daily Israeli breaches of peace throughout the Occupied Territories — including while he threatened Palestinians verbally.

For his part, Blinken showed contempt for two million Gazans by “ensur(ing) (that no) reconstruction aid reaches the Strip’s legitimate government, Hamas — falsely designated a terrorist organization it’s not and never was.

Nor will the US-dominated West do anything to end decades of illegal Israeli occupation, including its suffocating Gaza blockade.

One-sided US/Western support for Israel remains unchanged.

Palestinians are largely on their own in pursuing liberation from an oppressive apartheid occupier.
