Biden Regime Terror-Bombs Syrian/Iraqi Border Areas

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.orgHome – Stephen Lendman)

Forever war by hot and/or other means is official US policy against all nations free from its control.

Syrian/Iraqi resistance against Washington’s unlawful occupation of their territory is solely to gain freedom from the scourge of its imperial presence.

On all things Syria, the Biden regime continues aggression begun by Obama/Biden/Hillary in March 2011 — a flagrant UN Charter breach whenever launched.

On Monday, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported US overnight Sunday terror-bombing, saying:

Warplanes believed to be Pentagon ones struck “residential houses” in Syria’s eastern Deir Ezzor province along the Iraqi border, causing at least one civilian death (a child), three injuries and “material damage.”

Syria’s border with Iraq (and elsewhere in both countries) was terror-bombed numerous times before by US/NATO warplanes.

Israel terror-bombs Syrian targets repeatedly — on the phony pretext of an Iranian threat that doesn’t exist.

According to SANA, Syrian/Iraqi border areas have been terror-bombed “previous times…by the American occupation air force…”

The US and its imperial partners go all out “to undermine efforts of the Syrian state and its allies to enhance security and stability in the eastern region and to eliminate remnants of (US-supported) Daesh (and likeminded) terrorists and to prevent their infiltration between Iraq and Syria.”

On Sunday, a US war department statement said the following:

At the Biden regime’s “direction, (US warplanes terror-bombed) facilities used by Iran-backed militia groups (sic) in the Iraq-Syria border region,” adding:

“(T)argets were selected because these facilities are utilized by Iran-backed militias (sic) that are engaged in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks against US personnel and facilities in Iraq (sic).”

“US strikes targeted operational and weapons storage facilities at two locations in Syria and one location in Iraq, both of which lie close to the border between those countries.”

“Several Iran-backed militia groups (sic), including Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS), used these facilities.”

Fact: What US hardliners call Iraqi “militia groups” are freedom-fighting Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs).

They’re committed to liberating Iraq from longstanding US war on its long-suffering people and illegal occupation of the nation’s territory.

Overnight Sunday terror-bombing of Iraqi/Syrian sites by US warplanes had nothing to do with “(protect(ing) US personnel,” as the Biden regime’s war department falsely claimed.

If forever US regional aggression and occupation ended, no threat to them would exist.

The Biden regime “directed further” terror-bombing strikes on Iraqi and Syrian targets at its discretion.

Illegal US occupation of Iraq has nothing to do with “assisting (its) security forces in their efforts to defeat (US-created and supported) ISIS (sic),” as the Biden regime’s war department falsely claimed.

It’s all about wanting control over Iraqi and regional hydrocarbon and other valued resources.

It’s also about longstanding US/Israeli plans to redraw the Middle East map.

Both countries want pro-Western puppet regimes replacing sovereign independent regional governments.

That’s what forever US/NATO/Israeli aggression is all about, along with US occupation of Iraq, parts of Syria and other regional countries by the Pentagon’s military footprint.

Cold hard reality is polar opposite what the Biden regime’s war department falsely called US actions in “pursu(it) of its right of self-defense (sic).”

There’s nothing remotely “defens(ive)” about naked aggression — a longstanding US/NATO/Israeli specialty.

A Final Comment

On Friday, Russia’s UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia explained that “maximum (Kremlin conflict resolution) efforts…in Syria” are repeatedly obstructed by US-dominated NATO — in pursuit of forever war on the country and its people.

The same applies to neighboring Iraq.

A permanent US-initiated state of war exists — with no end of it in prospect — in pursuit of its hegemonic aim to dominate a part of the world where it’s unwanted, reviled and doesn’t belong, according to the Arab street and Islamic Republic.
