Biden Regime Escalates Sanctions War on China
Sanctions are weapons of war by other means, illegally imposed by US regimes on nations free from their control — for political reasons.
On Friday, the Biden regime sanctioned seven Chinese officials from Beijing’s Hong Kong liaison office.
The unjustifiable action came with a so-called advisory warning to corporate America about risks to their operations in Hong Kong — that don’t exist, saying:
“Developments over the last year in Hong Kong present clear operational, financial, legal and reputational risks for multinational firms (sic).”
During her Friday press briefing, interventionist Blinken’s deputy spokeswoman Porter defied reality as follows, saying:
The Biden regime “resolutely stands with the people in Hong Kong (sic).”
“(W)e’re promoting accountability (sic) with additional sanctions on officials connected with the undermining of Hong Kong’s autonomy (sic), as well as their democratic institutions and freedoms (sic).”
“(W)e’re also promoting transparency (sic) with a business advisory outlining some of the increased risks of doing business in Hong Kong (sic).”
“(S)even (Chinese) officials were sanctioned today for their actions threatening the peace, security, and stability and autonomy of Hong Kong (sic).”
In response to the Biden regime’s latest hostile action — in breach of international law — spokesperson for the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) denounced the US action as follows, saying:
It’s another example of US “bullying (and) double standards.”
“The US move goes against the historical trend, and all its pressure and sanctions are nothing but a piece of waste paper.”
“They can neither undermine the steady and sustained implementation of One Country, Two Systems, nor stop the irreversible trend of” China’s development.
“Its true intention is to undermine Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, endanger China’s national security, and contain China’s development.”
“The US plot is despicable and contemptible, and it will never succeed.”
“In response to the US arbitrary move, the Chinese people will certainly fight back.”
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the following in response to the hostile Biden regime action:
“China’s position on issues relating to Hong Kong is clear and consistent.”
“Hong Kong is part of China and its affairs are purely China’s internal affairs.”
“No country has the right to make wanton criticism and meddle in them.”
“The Chinese government is firmly determined to oppose US interference in Hong Kong affairs, safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests, and implement One Country, Two Systems.”
“The US should adhere to international law and basic norms governing international relations, stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs in any form and stop interfering in China’s domestic affairs.”
“China will respond strongly to US measures.”
In flagrant breach of international law, the 2020 US Hong Kong Autonomy Act (unanimously adopted by Congress and signed into law by Trump) authorized sanctions on Chinese entities and officials — on the phony pretext of violating Hong Kong’s autonomy (sic).
Separately in breach of international law, Trump’s executive order 13936 was signed to “hold China accountable for its aggressive actions against the people of Hong Kong (sic).”
At the time, he revoked the city’s special status — as part of his war on China by other means, continued by Biden regime hardliners.
Last week, they extended a nonexistent national emergency over what they falsely called an “extraordinary threat” by Beijing to US security and economic interests (sic).”
On Thursday, Biden’s impersonator falsely claimed the following:
“The situation in Hong Kong is deteriorating (sic), and the Chinese government is not keeping its commitment (on) how it would deal with Hong Kong (sic).”
In response, Hong Kong/Macau State Council head Xia Baolong said China’s National Security Law gave “international investors reassurance, and Hong Kong’s status as a financial center has not been compromised in the slightest,” adding:
“I also warn (US, UK, EU) politicians that they have grossly trampled on international law and interfered in our country’s internal affairs by imposing meaningless sanctions on us.”
“This will only arouse more of our anger and contempt for you, and sound the death knell for your agents in Hong Kong.”
Spokesman for the US Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong said “(w)e are closely monitoring the developments and will respond to it at an appropriate time.”
Continuation of Trump’s hostile policies on China by Biden regime hardliners risks rupturing relations altogether.
Unacceptable US actions also risk unthinkable conflict between both nations by accident or design.
