Biden Regime Escalates War on Iran by Other Means

by Stephen Lendman ( – Home – Stephen Lendman)

Trump and hardliners surrounding him killed the landmark JCPOA nuclear deal.

After vowing return to compliance, the Biden regime plunged its own dagger into the heart of the agreement to assure it stays dead — in cahoots with apartheid Israel.

For over 40 years, Washington waged proxy and sanctions war on Iran without let-up, continued by Blinken and others in the White House and State Department.

Since usurping power by the most brazen election fraud in US history, the Biden regime proved it’s as implacably hostile toward Iran as its predecessors.

Longstanding US policy toward the Islamic Republic has nothing to do with an Iranian threat to its security.

Nonbelligerent Iran threatens no other nations, what’s well known in the region and West.

US hostility is all about tolerating no nations free from its control — how the scourge of imperial operates, notably by waging endless wars against invented enemies by hot and other means.

Chances of rapprochement by Biden regime hardliners with Iran are virtually nil.

Piling on more illegal sanctions is the latest example — based on Big Lies and mass deception, a longstanding US/Western specialty.

On Friday, interventionist Blinken — a notorious serial liar — falsely accused Iran of “attempt(ing) to kidnap a US citizen on US soil (sic) because she used her freedom of speech to criticize the Iranian government (sic).”

Not a shred of credible evidence supports Blinken’s Big Lie.

Piling on more sanctions is all about escalating war on Iran by other means, suggesting more of the same ahead.

It’s also more evidence that Iranian diplomatic outreach to either wing of the US war party for any reason is a colossal waste of time.

Hegemons don’t negotiate. They demand.

Rejecting cooperative relations with other countries, they demand subservience — those maintaining their sovereign independence targeted for regime change.

Blinken also falsely claimed that the Biden regime “remains aware (sic) of ongoing Iranian interest in targeting other American citizens, including current and former US officials (sic).”

As always when US/Western accusations like the above are made, no corroborating evidence is cited because there is none.

No Iranian attempt to kidnap a US citizen occurred, no intent to target current or former US officials — or anyone else anywhere.

The above are US/Western/Israeli specialties, not how the Islamic Republic operates — prioritizing peace, stability, cooperative relations with other countries, and compliance with the rule of law.

All of the above were long ago abandoned by the US, West, Israel, and their imperial partners that include an array of tinpot despots.

The Biden regime sanctioned four Iranian officials illegally and maliciously with intent to continue war on the country and its people by other means.

In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the following:

Biden regime “officials are taking the same failed path” as its predecessor.

Their “toolbox is empty due to Iran’s maximum resistance, and this time, by resorting to Hollywood scenarios, they are trying to keep alive the sanctions atmosphere.”

“Washington needs to realize that it has no option but to give up its addiction to sanctions and use respectful language and manner towards Tehran.”

According to the Tehran Times on Friday, Biden regime envoy for Iran Rob Malley is involved with a “secret team of former Trump officials and Iran experts at conservative think tanks,” adding:

They’re working “hand in glove with a number of Iran hawks in Washington to set out a plan to destroy the Vienna talks in case they are resumed.”

The so-called Group on Iran Policy includes convicted Iran/Contra felon Elliott Abrams, Zionist zealot Dennis Ross, foundation for (the destruction) — not defense — of democrac(ies) wherever they exist Mark Dubowitz, and likeminded neocon extremists.

After six failed rounds of JCPOA talks in Vienna since last April — accomplishing nothing positive — will Iran agree to more talks virtually sure to fare no better?

Or will its new government no longer pursue the futility of diplomatic outreach to a nation bent on Iran’s transformation into a US vassal state?
