In the run-up to the Bush/Cheney regime’s 2003 aggression against Iraq, the NYT was in the forefront of supporting its planned what unfolded by a daily drumbeat of saber-rattling fake news.
At the time, propagandist Judith Miller operated as a virtual Pentagon press agent.
Her daily Times reports featured a virtual Noah’s Ark of liars and scam artists in support of war based on phony claims of nonexistent Iraqi
Credible sources like former US chief weapons inspector for Iraq Scott Ritter were ignored.
Site inspections he led explained that no WMDs existed.
In 1995, Saddam’s son-in-law, Hussein Kamel, defected to the West.
Ignored was what he explained in debriefings.
“(A)ll weapons – biological, chemical, missile and nuclear – were destroyed…Nothing remained,” he explained, adding:
“Iraq does not possess any weapons of mass destruction. I am being completely honest about this.”
In support of Bush/Cheney aggression on Iraq, MSM suppressed the above reality.
Much the same is going on today.
Russia is assaulted by a daily blitzkrieg of phony accusations — based on indisputable Big Lies and mass deception.
Despite no evidence of hostile intentions toward Ukraine, fake news accusations repeat daily — by Biden regime liars and their MSM press agents.
On all things related to hegemonic USA’s diabolical aims on the world stage, history has a disturbing way of repeating time and again.
Biden regime hardliners are pushing for war on Russia, most likely with use of Ukrainian forces to be used as cannon fodder.
That’s why US military forces and their Western counterparts are training its troops — along with pouring heavy and other weapons into a country with no external enemies, invented ones alone.
Times propagandist Thomas Friedman replicates the worst of Judith Miller’s fake news.
On Tuesday with malice aforethought, he lied by accusing of Vladimir Putin of planning to invade Ukraine — knowing no such plan exists.
Reinventing Putin into something he’s not, Friedman lied calling him “a retired KGB agent who simply refuses to come in from the cold (sic).”
He lied saying “he’s a politician trying to make sure he wins (or rigs) Russia’s 2024 election (sic).”
He lied accusing him of wanting to be Russia’s “president for life (sic).”
He lied claiming that he siphoned off…many rubles (and wants to) rule or die (sic).”
Like other MSM serial liars on virtually all major issues, Friedman’s rubbish falls flat.
Journalism Professor Robert Jensen once slammed his “underinflated insights, twisted metaphors, second-rate thinking, third-rate writing (and) hack journalis(m).”
He’s paid big bucks to lie and deceive readers.
Truth-telling would get him sacked.
The same goes for all Times columnists and correspondents — as well as their MSM counterparts.
Fake news is their stock and trade — especially about all things related to invented US enemies and flu/covid.
Reinventing post-Soviet Russian history, Friedman turned reality on its head as follows, saying:
When Vladimir Putin became Russia’s president, “he was able to benefit from the restructuring of the Russian economy by Boris Yeltsin (sic); from significant foreign investment (sic); from rising oil, gas and mineral prices (sic); and from improved political stability (sic).”
Fact: Pro-Western darling Yeltsin presided over Russia’s lost 1990s decade.
Fact: His adoption of US shock therapy produced economic genocide for the vast majority of Russians.
Fact: US/Western interests profited hugely at their expense.
Fact: So did a handful of complicit Russian oligarchs.
Fact: Yeltsin let corruption and criminality flourish.
Fact: Grand theft, money laundering and similar practices raped the country and its people.
Fact: Billions in stolen wealth were secreted in Western banks and offshore tax havens.
Fact: The vast majority of Russians despised Yeltsin.
Fact: Putin is widely admired for turning things around.
A preeminent leader on the world stage, he towers over his pigmy Western counterparts — notably the fake Biden.
US/Western dark forces revile him for serving Russia and its people in stark contrast to Yeltsin’s complicity with Western interests and his own at the expense of ordinary people.
Instead of truth and full disclosure about Putin and today’s Russia, the likes of Friedman and others like him exclusively feature managed news misinformation and disinformation rubbish.
In response to the fake Biden’s Big Lie claim that Putin will “test the West, test” hegemon USA, test NATO, and invade Ukraine, the Times and other MSM failed to debunk his bald-faced Big Lie.
What’s clear is ignored. What’s reported is fake news.
It’s at a time when Biden regime hardliners and likeminded Western counterparts are recklessly pushing things for possible global war.
If occurs, it’ll be made-in-the-USA like most all other major conflicts throughout the post-WW II period.
If waged with nuclear weapons, all bets are off.
