Hardball Time

There’s no ambiguity about Washington’s hegemonic aims.

In place for time immemorial, they’re all about achieving unchallenged control over the world community of nations, their resources and populations.

All nations free from US control are targeted for regime change, China and Russia most of all.

They alone stand in the way of its pursuit for global hegemony, especially united.

Both nations know, or should know, that hegemons don’t negotiate.

They demand everything in return for hollow promises to be breached at their discretion.

US history reflects this indisputable reality.

Most every treaty, convention and agreements in other forms that its ruling regimes agreed to were breached in whole or in part.

Nothing the US agrees to is worth the paper it’s written on.

So why do Russia, China, Iran and other nations waste time dealing with a nation that’s known for abandoning its international obligations sooner or later?

All-out US war on Russia by other means in unparalleled form for exercising its UN Charter right of self-defense against the menace posed by US-colonized, Nazi-infested Ukraine should be a screaming wakeup call for Moscow — as well as China and other nations free from US control.

Their ruling authorities should have been wide awake about Washington’s diabolical intentions throughout the Cold War.

No ambiguity about them exists.

Weeks after the Soviet Union’s December 1991 dissolution, the so-called (Paul) Wolfowitz doctrine shaped US geopolitics, stating:

“Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat  (sic) on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union.” 

“This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power (sic) from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.”

The US “must sufficiently account for the interests of the advanced industrial nations to discourage them from challenging our leadership or seeking to overturn the established political and economic order.”

Hegemon USA “should be postured to act independently when collective action cannot be orchestrated” or when conditions require a quick response.

Written 30 years ago, the Defense Planning Guidance Wolfowitz doctrine called for potentially targeting Russian assets and capabilities with nukes, noting at the time the following:

The Russian Federation is “the only power in the world with the capability of destroying the US.”

An updated Wolfowitz doctrine today would include China.

His doctrine was a virtual declaration of endless wars by hot and/or other means on invented US enemies — nations free from its control.

It virtually called for neutralizing Russia’s nuclear arsenal, saying:

Unless achieved, the US “face(s) the possibility of robust strategic nuclear forces in the hands of those who might revert to closed, authoritarian, and hostile regimes (sic).”

The above is code language for a nation able to hit back hard defensively with overwhelming destructive power in response to US aggression.

The Wolfowitz doctrine also virtually called for occupying Eurasian countries close to Russia’s borders — what he called “a substantial American presence in Europe” in cahoots with allied nations.

No matter that then and now, Washington’s only external threats have been invented.

No real ones existed since WW II ended.

Inventing them is core US strategy in pursuit of its hegemonic aims.

It unjustifiably justifies spending countless trillions of dollars on weapons and all else military related for perpetual war-making.

Wolfowitz put it this way, saying:

The US “must maintain (its) status as a military power of the first magnitude” globally, implying short of stating:

Washington must demonstrate its power by smashing targeted nations to show it means business.

US hegemonic aims got Sergey Lavrov to acknowledge earlier that it’s foolhardy for Russia to believe that dismal relations with the US “will fade away.”

Saying it and adopting hardball policies in response have been worlds apart for Russia.

In light of the Biden regime’s virtual declaration of war on its sovereignty — barely stopping short of belligerent confrontation so far —  Kremlin gloves should be off in response.

No more Mr. nice guy should be prioritized by Vladimir Putin in Russian policy toward hegemon USA.

The same reality applies to China, Iran and other nations free from US control.

Longstanding policy by both right wings of its one-party state calls for transforming them into vassal states by whatever it take to achieve this objective.

There’s virtually nothing independent nations can do to transform hegemon USA from a belligerent state to prioritizing peace, stability and cooperative relations with other countries.

Diplomacy if pursued will continue to be a colossal waste of time — showing weakness, not strength.

The only language that US ruling regimes understand is toughness.

The only option for independent nations is going their own way, allying with likeminded independent states, and preparing defensibly as hegemon USA continues to decline.

The myth of American exceptionalism, the indispensable state, an illusory moral superiority, and unchallenged military supremacy were long ago debunked.

The long ago founded republic no longer exists.

An imperial state, military Keynesianism, and ruinous  spending for perpetual war-making replaced it — while vital homeland needs go begging, the nation “rotting away at a funereal pace,” as Gore Vidal explained.

It’s way too late for “mere scattered reforms,” Chalmers Johnson stressed.

Like other empires in history, the US has been in decline for decades because of its imperial arrogance, endless wars against invented enemies, and unwillingness to change.

Its epitaph one day may read:

Imperial USA no longer exists. 

Like other empires in history, arrogance, delusions of grandeur and overreach killed it.

It can’t happen a moment too soon.
