Straight Talk About Hegemon USA-Dominated NATO

On Monday, China’s official People’s Daily laid blame where it belongs as follows, saying:

“The eastward enlargement of NATO (toward Russia’s borders), led by the US, is the root of the Ukrainian crisis.”

Since established in 1949, the war-making alliance has been used by the US as “a tool (to advance) it hegemony.”

Its multi-trillion dollar budget focuses heavily on militarism and belligerence.

Last week, former UN Independent Expert on the Promotion of a Democratic and Equitable International Order Alfred-Maurice de Zayas minced no words, saying:

The International Criminal Court (ICC) should designate NATO a “criminal organization.”

An ICC “criminal tribunal” should prosecute its current and former leaders for offenses too grievous to ignore.

“It is time to demand an end to impunity for the crime of aggression, war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

“It is time to demand that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declare in an Advisory Opinion that the eastern expansion of NATO entailed a ‘threat to international peace and security’ for purposes of article 39 of the UN Charter and constituted a violation of article 2(4) of the Charter, which prohibits not only the use of force but also the threat of the use of force.”

“NATO is certainly not a defensive alliance.”

“It should be the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by NATO countries in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya…Syria” and elsewhere.

“These crimes are documented not only in the publications of Wikileaks, but also in UN reports and countless eyewitness and victim testimonies.”

“NATO has a long track record of war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

“It is important that history record this sad reality, and that civil society the world over reject the propaganda narratives and demand more transparency and accountability from the leaders of the US and all NATO countries.”

International law is by definition universal. It’s US constitutional law under its Supremacy Clause.

It must be enforced against offenders large and small — without double standards.

On Monday, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said the following:

“It is an unacceptable double standard to sympathize with refugees in Ukraine while turning a blind eye to refugees from countries in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America” — victims of US/NATO aggression.

“It is an unacceptable double standard to call acts harming civilians in Ukraine war crimes, while allowing harm done to civilians in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq (Yemen,Libya, Somalia) and Syria to go unpunished.”

“It is an unacceptable double standard to say the attacks on Ukraine undermine the principle of respect for sovereignty, while claiming the attacks on (the above nations and others) are legitimate and lawful.”

“The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected.”

“The purposes and principles of the UN Charter should be observed.”

“The legitimate security concerns of all countries should be taken seriously.”

“Only when double standards (are) discarded can regional hotspot issues be addressed in a just manner and enduring peace achieved in Europe and other places of the world.”

On Monday, Sergey Lavrov explained why Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine was launched, saying the following:

It’s to end an 8-year state of (US-orchestrated and directed) forever war by Nazified Ukraine on Donbass and its long-suffering people.

It’s to “demilitarize and deNazify Ukraine (because of) a direct threat to Russia’s security.”

Hegemon USA-dominated NATO “declared a total hybrid war against us and did so expressly without trying to conceal (its) goal.”

The goal is “to destroy the Russian economy and undermine political stability inside Russia, aiming to weaken Russia to an extent that would sideline us in international affairs, as they have been saying straight out.”

“Long controlled from outside, the Kiev (regime) serve(s) as a tool in anti-Russia geopolitical games.”

“This largely explains efforts to feed weapons and money to the Kiev regime as well as other kinds of assistance over the years.”

“Not only has the (US-dominated) West violated all possible norms of international relations in their Russophobic frenzy, but they have also scorned freedom of speech and the rule of law.”

Their ruling regimes have “engage(d) in state mobster-like activity, seiz(ing) private property and forgo(ing) financial and economic obligations.”

Throughout new millennium years alone, they raped and destroyed one invented enemy nation state after another — massacring millions by war, related violence, deprivation and untreated health related issues, along with causing massive destruction.

Since the Obama/Biden regime transformed Ukraine from democratic to Nazi-infested tyrannical rule 8 years ago, the West ignored Kiev’s “brazen attacks against the Russian language and culture and efforts to ban Russian-language media outlets.”

Its US-installed puppet regimes banned speech, press, academic and other freedoms.

Over the last 8 years, “Russophobia has become unprecedented (throughout) the West.”

Sparing no one in Russia, its “cultural workers, artists, athletes, scientists, business people and ordinary citizens are subject to regular and harsh persecution.”

“Simply by having a Russian passport or speaking Russian (risks) threats of physical violence.”

What’s ongoing is an inflection point “in the historical evolution of civilizations.”

“Despite the challenges, Russian diplomacy will continue to consistently and firmly uphold our national interests in the international arena and do everything necessary to protect the lives, honor, and security of Russian citizens and our compatriots abroad.”

“No amount of threats, blackmail, or ultimatums will coerce us into renouncing our sovereignty and independence, our centuries-old history, or our vast spiritual heritage, bequeathed to us by our ancestors.”

Separately on Monday, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on last week’s European Council meeting in Brussels, saying:

It reaffirmed that the West is using “Ukraine…as a geopolitical battering ram against Russia.”

“This is why Ukrainian neo-Nazis are given money, weapons and ammunition which they use to kill civilians.”

“They receive assurances of solidarity and unconditional support” — notably their neo-Nazis.

European vassals to US hegemonic interests pretend to be “defenders of international law while (falsely) accusing Russia of violating it.”

Actions by European regimes are self-defeating.

“They are dooming Europe and everyday Europeans to the demolition of the existing socially oriented economic model and way of life amid skyrocketing prices for electricity and fuel, as well as cuts in social benefits in favor of military budgets, runaway inflation and mass unemployment.”

They failed “to realize the tragic consequences of flooding an aggressive neo-Nazi regime in central Europe with money and weapons” for perpetual war in its heartland.
