Interviewed by Tass on June 16, Lavrov explained what he, Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials stressed about the Russian Federation’s liberating SMO in Ukraine repeatedly, saying:
The campaign is all about protecting Russia’s security and liberating Donbass entirely from Nazified occupation.
Achieving these aims requires that US-colonized Ukraine be demilitarized and deNazified.
As ordered by its US master, Kiev flagrantly breached Minsk I and II conflict resolution agreements in favor of forever war on Donbass along Russia’s borders.
Moscow supports the sovereign independence of Donetsk and Lugansk in Donbass.
The same support is extended to the rights of all people worldwide, according to international law.
Russia’s SMO “is unfolding at a pace that is necessary to save lives and minimize risks” to noncombatants, said Lavrov.
He, Vladimir Putin, and other Russian officials repeatedly stressed what Russia’s SMO is all about and how it’s proceeding toward achieving its publicly stated aims.
Soon after it began, puppet Zelensky proposed talks.
Russia agreed to show good faith.
After agreeing in principle to conflict resolution, Kiev about-faced on orders from its US master.
Along the way, the Zelensky regime implemented made-in-the-USA false flags in Bucha and Kramatorsk, falsly blaming Russia for what its forces had nothing to do with.
For the past two months, Kiev refused to resume conflict resolution talks as ordered by hegemon USA.
At this time, Russia is involved in restoring normality to areas its forces liberated in Donbass and Ukraine.
Their people will decide their future, not Kiev, hegemon USA or its Western vassals.
Sooner or later, Ukraine will realize the reality of where things stand.
Its regime can accept it, resolve conflict, restore peace in accordance withe Russia’s SMO objectives or continue the futility of endless conflict and be worse off ahead than now.
So far, elements running things in Kiev have shown no signs of seeking conflict resolution over endless war and loss of life.
On Poland issuing passports to Ukrainians, Lavrov said US-dominated Western regimes throw “tantrums” about Russian passports issued to Donbass residents.
The double standard needs no elaboration.
The West follows its own rules, wants other nations denied similar rights and demands that they act subserviently to Western interests — even when detrimental to their own.
On tribunals to hold war criminals accountable for what’s too grievous to ignore, Donetsk and Lugansk will conduct legal proceedings for this purpose.
The triumph of Russia’s liberating SMO was clear straightaway when launched.
It’s just a matter of time before Ukraine is sufficiently demilitarized and deNazified.
If US-dominated NATO seeks protracted proxy war on Russia in guerrilla or similar form after Ukraine’s military collapses, conflict could continue for some time.
But its outcome won’t change.
Russia continues to outwit, outmaneuver and defeat the most diabolical of US/Western plans.
On Friday, Southfront reported one among many examples, saying:
Nazified Ukrainian troops and likeminded mercenaries holed up inside Severodonetsk’s Azot plant are beginning to “crumbl(e) (from) strikes of Russian forces.”
They continue to advance on multiple fronts while what remains of greatly degraded Kiev troops retreat.
Superior Russian firepower and tactics inflicted huge loses on Ukraine troops, their weapons, munitions and equipment.
According to Ukrainian MP David Arahamiya:
Regime forces are sustaining daily manpower losses of up to 1,000 killed or wounded.
While lots of further cannon fodder can be compelled to serve in Ukraine’s military, the relentless battering it’s taking can only go on so long before collapsing from eroded manpower, destroyed weapons et al and undermined will to keep fighting for a lost cause.
Alex of The Duran commented in his Sunday video, Lavrov said in the interview linked below, Russia no longer cares what the west thinks and Russia will go its own way. The video went up on YT today and could be gone today since it is YT.
