More Postmortems on Pelosi’s Imperial Arrogance

In response to Pelosi’s effrontery by showing up in Taiwan where neither she or US officials don’t belong, over 160 nations reaffirmed their support for One China — according to the rule of law.

On Saturday, China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, said the following about Taiwan and Beijing’s response to Pelosi’s imperial arrogance:

“Our position is legitimate, reasonable and lawful.”

“Our measures are resolute, strong and proportionate.”

“Our military drills are open, transparent and professional…in line with our domestic law, international law and common international practice…”

“We will firmly safeguard China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, resolutely deter the US from ‘using Taiwan to contain China,’ and resolutely shatter the Taiwan authorities’ illusion of seeking independence by relying on US support.”

Actions by China in response to Pelosi’s Taiwan visit fully comply with UN Charter principles.

Non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries is fundamental under international law.

Hegemon USA acts “unscrupulous(ly) in bullying other countries, particularly small and medium-sized (ones), from its so-called ‘position of strength.’ ”

China and most other nations oppose its imperial arrogance.

Attempts by the US to contain China by “using Taiwan” are doomed to fail.

Pelosi blundered by going to Taipei, a breakaway Chinese province, not a nation.

China’s Xinhua said she breached the One China principle and rule of law multiple ways.

Her unacceptable action was a “gross violation” of three Sino/US joint communiques — recognizing the PRC as China’s sole legal government, including Taiwan.

By showing up in Taipei last Tuesday, she and the Biden regime drove a stake through the heart of the One China principle — by virtually recognizing Taiwanese independence.

Her action was a major body blow to Sino/US relations and a serious breach of international law.

One China is the prevailing consensus of the international community.

According to UN Res. 2758 (October 1971), the PRC is the only representative of China at the UN.

“To date, 181 (world community) countries established diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China on the basis of the One China principle.”

It’s the “anchor” of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Meddling in China’s internal affairs by the empire of lies and forever wars on invented enemies is an affront to its sovereignty — what Pelosi’s unacceptable visit represented.

It wasn’t her first anti-China action.

In 1991, she stoked tensions in Tiananmen Square.

“In 2008, she went out of her way to stir up trouble on Tibet.”

In the same year, she urged GW Bush to boycott the Beijing Summer Olympics.

She actively supported made-in-the-USA 2019-20 Hong Kong protests, including by meeting with its Chinese instigators in Washington.

She called US-orchestrated Hong Kong street violence “a beautiful sight to behold (sic).”

In 2019, she met with Rebiya Kadeer, a supporter of Xinjiang independence.

In 2021, she called for boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics.

She strongly backed pro-Taiwan/anti-China congressional legislation.

She’s widely reviled in China for good reason.

At the same time, she’s hostile to the rights of ordinary people at home and abroad worldwide.

During her Taiwan visit, she reinvented reality as she does on all important issues, saying:

“Today, the world faces a choice between democracy and autocracy (sic).”

“Our congressional delegation’s visit to Taiwan honors America’s unwavering commitment to supporting Taiwan’s vibrant democracy (sic).”

The empire of lies deplores governance of, by and for everyone equitably, according to the rule of law — especially at home where it’s virtually banned.

A fantasy version alone exists

Like most others in Washington, Pelosi abuses power in pursuit of her own interests.

She’s one of the ugliest ugly Americans

Her California 12th district constituents would be well-served by booting her from Congress, by replacing her with someone who’ll represent their interests instead of her own exclusively.

  1. China sent an armada to welcome her but she sneaked in through the backdoor under cover of darkness.

South Korean President more sensible in not meeting her.

Like the Putin, Xi was not bluffing.
