A same-day article discussed police state Israeli raids on the offices of 7 Palestinian human rights organizations — one of many examples of its apartheid tyranny.
There’s no ambiguity about what the raids were all about — wanting truth-telling about its ruthlessness silenced and criminalized by falsely designating 6 of the 7 affected Palestinian groups as “terrorist” organizations.
According to targeted Al-Haq’s Tahkeen Alyan:
“Israel does not want anyone to hold it accountable for its crimes, and to be brought to trial, and this is what bothers it and motivates it to take this action against the institution.”
MiddleEastEye.net (MEE) explained the following about the overnight Thursday Lapid regime raids:
The IDF “confirmed in a statement that soldiers ‘closed seven institutions and confiscated property,’ ” adding:
The Adalah Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, “which represent(s) the six groups with private attorneys, said (it got) no explanation” for the overnight raids.
According to Adalah attorneys, as reported by MEE:
“The raid on the offices of the six organizations was carried out only a few hours after the Israeli military commander rejected the objection filed by the groups against their declaration as ‘unlawful associations,’ without giving any answer to the fact that these organizations were and are not given any opportunity to defend themselves against (so-called) secret evidence that the Israeli security forces allegedly hold against them.”
“Israel continues to persecute Palestinian human rights and civil society groups with the clear aim of silencing any criticism against it.”
“The effort is led by (war) minister, Benny Gantz, suspected of committing war crimes, in an attempt to terrorize those who will testify against him and his actions.”
Foreign ministries of 9 European countries said they received no “substantial information” to justify what’s clearly unjustifiable.
A statement by the B’tselem Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories said the following:
The organization “stands in solidarity with Palestinian civil society organizations raided this morning by the Israeli military.”
“We will continue to work with our colleagues in the Palestinian NGOs to dismantle the apartheid regime.”
“This regime considers violent repression a legitimate tool to control Palestinians, yet (falsely) defines nonviolent civil activity as terrorism.”
MEE added the following, saying:
“Last month, Israel’s (war) ministry said lawyers working for the (7 targeted) organizations (henceforth require) official permission from the finance and (war) ministers to represent them or face a prison sentence of up to seven years.”
A joint statement by J Street, Jewish Voice for Peace, and T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights said the following:
The Lapid regime “has not established its allegations,” adding:
They and likeminded groups “will continue to financially and politically support these organizations and the communities and groups they serve.”
Even US imperial tool/UN high commissioner for human rights, Michelle Bachelet, slammed the overnight raids, saying:
What happened was “an attack on human rights defenders on freedoms of association, opinion and expression and on the right to public participation.”
The Biden regime failed to condemn the police state raids.
The White House was silent.
According to so-called State Department spokesman, Price:
The Lapid regime “promised to provide…information (sic)” about the raids.
Expressing hollow “concern,” the statement failed to condemn what indisputably was unjustifiable.
The NYT reported that the Biden regime “has not taken a public position on (false) designations” of Palestinian human rights groups” as terrorist organizations.
And this from the Times:
Israel “strongly rejects being characterized as an apartheid state, (an indisputable) charge by a number of international, Israeli and Palestinian rights groups, including most recently by a UN special rapporteur.”
And this unjustifiable justification by Israeli war minister, Gantz, saying:
The targeted groups “operate under the guise of performing humanitarian activities to further the goals of the PFLP terrorist organization (sic), to strengthen the organization and to recruit operatives.”
Time and again, Israeli regimes falsely designate Palestinian human rights groups as terrorist organizations.
The PFLP is dedicated to liberating Palestine legally from Zionist colonial occupation.
Yet on October 8, 1997, the Clinton co-presidency falsely designated the group as a foreign terrorist organization.
In December 2006, the Israeli Olmert regime sentenced PFLP General Secretary, Ahmad Sa’adat, to 30 years imprisonment, a politicized action against the leader of a group engaged in legitimate struggle for freedom from apartheid tyranny.
In 1993, the group stated its “strategic aim” as follows, saying:
It seeks “the establishment of a democratic state on (historic) Palestinian land, with its capital in Jerusalem.”
“This state would guarantee legal rights and equality of opportunity to all citizens, without discrimination on the grounds of religion, sex, belief or color.”
“It would oppose Zionism and imperialism and be oriented towards democratic unity with other Arab countries.”
It correctly called the Jewish state “a racist, aggressive, expansionist, settler-colonial entity which aims at elimination of our people.”
Since establishment of the Jewish state on stolen Palestinian land in 1948, its ruling regimes terrorized Palestinians for being unwanted Arabs in territory Israel wants for exclusive Jewish development and use.
Earlier I explained that virtually every day is Kristallnacht in Occupied Palestine.
Millions of subjugated Palestinians are collectively punished by racial discrimination, economic strangulation, mass arrests, detentions, curfews, roadblocks, checkpoints, separation walls, electric fences, other barriers, neighborhood incursions, crop destruction, fishermen attacked at sea, farmers terrorized in their fields, land, sea and air attacks, bulldozed homes, land theft, ethnic cleansing, gulag imprisonment, and slow-motion genocide.
Institutionalized Israeli state terror against an entire population of indigenous people is for the crime of praying to the wrong God.
Israeli state terror is an instrument of slow-motion genocide, subjugation and controlling Palestinians by brute force and intimidation.
Ongoing ruthlessly for decades, it continues with no end of it in prospect because US-dominated Western societies support what just ones abhor and don’t tolerate.
Trapped, isolated and terrorized by Israeli ruthlessness, Gazans suffer most of all in the world’s largest open-air prison — while the world community largely yawns and does nothing to help them.
